Clear well that is tough thing to get right, but for the first car that I have painted since High School it could have been worse. I have climbed the four levels of Hell, 1 Body Filler, 2 Poly Surfacer, 3 Primer, and the 4th Paint and Clear. Now I have the the bonus level Cut and Buff. I really had trouble getting the clear to flow consistently on the larger areas so a cut and buff is in order I will hang the parts on the car and just worry about the parts that show. I think the stripe is a little dark maybe a bit more midnight than blue, but it pops a little more in the sun.

Now to find someone with the stuff to do the cut and buff and the time to help me not screw it up.

if there's enough clear a good guy can work wonders in the color sanding and buffing stages. I've painted two Cobra's myself............ laying stripes on an "egg" is a thrill few will ever realize. Good luck!

nice work.
it looks like there is not enough clear on there. if the panels are still in paint bay area, i would wet sand them with 600 or 800 flat and re clear, 2 good coats, 75% overlap
sanding those panels now with 600 and re clearing will take a 5th the amount of time it will take after car is assembled and you have some burn thrus etc.
great build, you will get it.

Bonus Round Defeated

Well, thanks to my never die attitude. I dove in head first to get the cut and buff done quickly. Started Fri. noon with the sanding two steps 1200 / 2000 finished it up Sun. with Menzerna Power Gloss on the wool pad and the finishing pad no need for the middle pad or different compound it works like those single compound systems. huge difference on the car.

You have alot to be proud of right there. Take your time now and use tape to protect your edges during reassembly.
