Are those the ones with the 1 inch drop built in? Pretty cool stuff right there.

That would be interesting to know...

I keep thinking that the AME product is light years ahead of Wayne Due's subframes, not that I can recall the specifics as to why. I'm sure our pro-touring guru Mr. Stielow would know.

Anyway, that is some fine looking hardware you've got there, Ron. Billet uprights and all - very trick. So, when are you going to break down and get some Penske shocks to go with everything

Matt

Yeah, don't think I wasn't thinking about it when James put those up for sale. But then I was like, naw I don't have any 'show' touring bars to mount the resivours on...

Exactly. The genesis was that I got the render and was talking w Matt and JCG Cris about ride height. Cris (the man) said 'no prob Ron, we can do anything you want.' AME has some low cars on their site, but Matt thought drop spindles would be the best approach and put me onto LG. The 1" drop in a c6 spindle does not have the same issues as what you see on a stock spindle; basically the same geometry can be achieved with a lower COG. Mr Rupp really had the roadmap on this so we started talking about design/weak points - one fix creates a new issue to look at so I had to go all in. Turns out LG has some track proven stuff and recently came out w these extruded pieces which made them within my reach. Fernando sourced them for me. Really a team effort.

BTW, I used full height body mounts but I know I'm in a world of hurt on my tunnel and inner fenders. Pretty sure the tubs and rear suspension is fine. Oh well, add two more items to the punch list...

Way to take the bull by the horns Ron. Learn by everybody elses trials and tribulations and theoretically you should only have to do this right one time saving you time and money.

Solid team you put together also. I mean with the many builds Chris has put together and the many, many, many changes and experiences Penny and Rupp have been through theoretically you should be in good shape.

Anxious to see how she looks and rides up front.

Excuse me, but the correct terminology would be "up bars." Down bars tie the subframe into the cage, and "up bars" hold the shock reservoirs "up."

Matt

I hear you on the fender well clearence

That was the main reason I went with my fabbed aluminum ones.

Car is really coming together!

I stand corrected, Matt. I believe you've found your niche - 'Pro Touring Terminology'. You can write a book about it, make up a few new ones and fund that go kart build...

Thx Payton, so is yours.....I'm not looking to fab alum, although it does look nice. Maybe look into Anvil's, not sure yet.

Haha...I'm killin' it on the engineering front, right?

Driving it hard is the plan Bro, although I think we'll all be chasing Fernando one day on the straights (930 hp)....
