The plastic factory PS tank wasn't in keeping with the rest of the project so a CV kit was ordered. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps07722170.png The kit brings two sets of bracket to giving different mounting options. Unfortunately neither of the two brackets worked with the fifth gen setup. So it was decided to mount the tank remotely. Unfortunately again the piece the tank mounts to was to short to mount it to the shock tower. So it had to be extended. My buddy at HM Racing and Design milled a piece to weld onto the CV piece. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...psc1aa3681.jpg The two pieces were then welded together. The back side was given an angle cut to match the slope of the shock tower. (See the pictures on the top of the page to compare the difference) http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5324d81e.jpg One of the implication with the new intake is the TB now sits higher and further forward. This created to steep of an angle downward from the TB to the air intake for the shorter distance. The solution is to push engine back 2" and lower it 1". The domino effect is that the radiator hose, motor mounts, trans mount, exhuast cross bracing, drive shaft will need to be modified. Currently the headers are the lowest point under the car. They sit about an 1.5" below the frame rail. To compensate for the engine drop a new set custom one off headers and exhuast setup is also part of the plan. When done the frame rails will be the lowest point. Seems like a lot of work but the added benefit will be the transfer of weight. Craig explained as a rule of thumb in racing every inch takes 100 lbs off front It might actually just be 75 lbs but 100 lbs is the rule of thumb. Lowering the center of gravity which should help. Still waiting on a few parts to start on version 2.0 of the track inspired engine. Drive sump pan, pump and dampener are in. Just waiting on the new track inspired cam and TD rockers. The Lingenfelter LS3 heads might also get replaced with Trick Flow new casting. Pat G likes them better the the Mast. Bill Dailey recommended to use two separate inline filter. A 75 micron from the pump to the tank. A 25 micron from the cooler to the engine. Justin design on Auto-CAD these cool clamps to mount one on each frame rail.
