Thanks, to be honest, mostly just sweet equity and attention to details going on here. There's some pics of the car in the thread.

Speaking of details......

The plastic factory PS tank wasn't in keeping with the rest of the project so a CV kit was ordered.

The kit brings two sets of bracket to giving different mounting options. Unfortunately neither of the two brackets worked with the fifth gen setup.

So it was decided to mount the tank remotely. Unfortunately again the piece the tank mounts to was to short to mount it to the shock tower. So it had to be extended.

My buddy at HM Racing and Design milled a piece to weld onto the CV piece.

The two pieces were then welded together. The back side was given an angle cut to match the slope of the shock tower. Holes were drilled at the same angle as the shock tower so that the bolts would sit flush to the sheet metal.

Finally the boys smooth it out so it would like look like it came that way from CV.

Lot of work went into making something look so simple. What I covered was just the high lights.

Al I've said it before and will say it again unbelievable work your boys have put into this car or rolling art I should say!! I really can't wait to see it in person!!

Wayne, thats a good questions. I haven't checked. Maybe Cris can chime in since he machined some for Blu Balz.

Thanks guys, should make for a fun ride when shes done.

The stamped factory rear cradle is being replace with a custom chrome-moly tubular deal.

Here are a couple of pics of the jig being fabricated. Should drop another 60 - 70 lbs.

Thanks guys for the interest! The boys have been busy! Both Nathan and Justin are taking the summer off from UCSD to get the car finished.

Justin flew to Wisconsin Wednesday and will be there for two weeks. He is helping Craig at Xtreme get the rear cradle done. Here are couple of pictures of the rear frame rails being mockup up.

The new OZMO and NW TB are in. Jamie (Owner) said it's his favorite intake. The boys are still giving it their touch". Some guys can't leave well enough alone, LOL. Jamie is also milling a billet valley plate. Should be here in a week or so.

The lines on the reservoir were replaced with crimped end for a cleaner look. (See the pictures on the top of the page to compare the difference)

One of the implication with the new intake is the TB now sits higher and further forward. This created to steep of an angle downward from the TB to the air intake for the shorter distance. The solution is to push engine back 2" and lower it 1". The domino effect is that the radiator hose, motor mounts, trans mount, exhuast cross bracing, drive shaft will need to be modified. Currently the headers are the lowest point under the car. They sit about an 1.5" below the frame rail. To compensate for the engine drop a new set custom one off headers and exhuast setup is also part of the plan. When done the frame rails will be the lowest point.

Seems like a lot of work but the added benefit will be the transfer of weight. Craig explained as a rule of thumb in racing every inch takes 100 lbs off front It might actually just be 75 lbs but 100 lbs is the rule of thumb. Lowering the center of gravity which should help.

Still waiting on a few parts to start on version 2.0 of the track inspired engine. Drive sump pan, pump and dampener are in. Just waiting on the new track inspired cam and TD rockers. The Lingenfelter LS3 heads might also get replaced with Trick Flow new casting. Pat G likes them better the the Mast.



Bill Dailey recommended to use two separate inline filter. A 75 micron from the pump to the tank. A 25 micron from the cooler to the engine. Justin design on Auto-CAD these cool clamps to mount one on each frame rail. The brackets follow the contour of the rails and the filters appear to be siting on the top of the actual rails.

Lastly, Dan is finishing up the rendering. Hopefully he will have them done tomorrow. In my opinion the primarily one he showed us is perfect as is but being the perfectionist his is, he wanted to tweak them some more. I will post picks when we get the final product. Just expect to be blown away!
