Sean,
Nice truck, I saw it at the wet track day. Never had a chance to say hi but the truck looks great in person. You might try bigger sway bars to control the body roll. Too stiff on springs can also hurt your track speeds. Dan |

You are the second person to mention the sway bar, then the third person mentioned it last night :thankyou: Basher I have an ADDCO front sway bar on the other pickup so I ordered one up for this turd last night. I think it will be here before the next track day. Sorry for the lack of progress here....not much going on in the shop right now, its house projects the last month or so but the house looks pretty awesome. Thanks for the advice, Sean |

I met Sean and Marty at SIR for an SCCA Track Night last Friday. I think they shocked a lot of the NW crowd, the two oldest rigs by a long shot. Watching this truck run, seeing the reaction of others and watching all the point byes is really a hoot! It's fun listening to people describe a rear view mirror full of Ford grill and once he's around, he's gone!
Nice work on the truck and the driving Sean! |

Thanks Guys!! The truck has been really fun and surprisingly fast. I am looking for a little more rear grip on corner entry and probably the need to add some kind of rollover protection here soon. Ordered the large front sway bar a month and a half ago and it is still not in stock.
Work on the truck has been at a standstill, its pretty normal being in the HVAC Service side of the world, I get pretty hammered with work when its either hot or cold out. Wheels should be here soon as well. Managed to get a few days off last week and head out to the Ron Sutton class in Colombus Ohio just before the big Goodguys event. To say Ron knows a lot is an understatement. The amount of information that guy covers is immense and I came away with a much better understanding than I went into the class with. I certainly have a few things to work on now, Bigger Front sway bar, Adjustable height on the Panhard Bar at the rear axle mount is in need too. Ron was a great guy and I enjoyed the class a ton. Then there was the Goodguys show....which by the way was just an added bonus we had no idea how big of a show it was. We went from hotel parking lot to hotel parking lot, burnouts in the streets to the actual show. Vendors for days, autocross with all the big dogs in attendance was amazing. Danny Popp is a machine and that vette is pretty damn fast. The cars were just over the top. Some more than others. Here are a few pics I took while back there. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8wug4ewp.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psudm34umj.jpg This thing was just bad ass. Pretty Original with the G code. Stripped down base model 4 speed. It sounded incredible when he fired it up to leave. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psscv10ycp.jpg I am starting to really dig these too. 49,50 and this was a 51. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psurh6o0r6.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psqcvpcex5.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1c3hfyrk.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9omrpyu5.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psrj8glyxs.jpg The wife has a love for these cars now....this is an acadian and it was damn cool. Great stance. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psysge4kez.jpg Ill preface this with I am not a first gen camaro guy, nice cars but eh. This might have been my favorite car all weekend. It had just the perfect balance of new touches with the old styling. Interior was just enough race car, engine bay was still the resemblance of the original. Not covered up with fancy paneling and perfect paint. Excellent Balance in my opinion. Cool Build Busack. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psyezuwx7g.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3yltdheg.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...pstovxv2ex.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psbfzi6en4.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psfhblxhzx.jpg For some reason my photobucket account is all messed up and I am looking for the photos..... Ill try and get them loaded up and share. Nice meeting those people I got to meet. Sean |
The stock style swaybar is still not available and that might be the best news you've gotten. What do you think about an adjustable 3 piece set up? Easier to change rates, adjustable arms for different tracks....did you learn nothing from Ron's class :action-smiley-027:
Let me know if you need MY friend Ron Sutton's number. It also seems we've got similar tastes in cars from the above pictures, thanks for sharing. |

The stock crown vic bar fits very good and clears the inside of the 18x10 by 0 mm. I would need the new one to have some custom machined and bent arms to clear the wheel and tire combo with the new wheels. Oh and FYI....18x11's on the front :walkingdog: Should be here sometime next week. Tires are at the tire place waiting for me. KILLING ME with suspense. Sean |
18x11s on front, Wow! Especially since I know how excited I am for my new 18x9.5s that should be shipping to me next week.
|
What wheels are you getting?
|
Sean I just found and read throught this - exellent craftsmanship!!!
:trophy-1302: Great Job! did you ever teardown original engine to see what happened to it? |
