Tony, are you doing burnouts and not telling us or making vids? :willy:

tony byram 10-27-2009 12:51 AM

Congratulations Anthony! Thats a great sounding name isnt it? Your car is just BEAUTIFUL!!! Now comes the fun part of watching it go together. Im kinda wanting to see Orange Crate myself, Im kinda biased too Nick. (I own a 72 Z28) If it comes out slick as Karma, its gonna be one beautiful second-gen! You guys need to give yourselves a pat on the back. Makes me proud to be a member of a site like this! Its great to see a group of people united in a common cause, pull together and create such a work of art. Excellent job guys! The car looks Fantastic! :lateral:

No real updates since paint.
I have a couple cars to finish up before I leave for SEMA.

I'm given the paint a little time to dry. Tony's to far away for something to show up and need a repair or if something dies down and shrinks alittle
(This will give the paint sometime to gas out before berrying more material on)

The next step will be putting the car together to do the stripes and then dissemble for a re clear.
I have decided when it's dissembled to re clear for the stripes I'd re clear the roof, rear qrts, and back of the car since we will be re clearing the doors, fenders, hood and header for the stripes anyways.
I thought I would step up and re clear the back also then the whole car will have been sanded and re cleared for a total of 8 coats 4 coats then sanded with 500 flat and 4 coats more on top. Then we will sand and buff

Anyone that knows paint knows that this will give a nicer surface to lay the final clear down and no (less) die back.

I have put a ton of hours into this and this is the last step and most important.
I hope everyone understands this was a complete redo for Tony and I'm finishing it up in the best time I can without any charge on the project.
I put my own projects on hold for this car and I'm very exited to see it finished as much or more then the rest of you. We are coming to the end real soon.
Thanks everyone

Hey Brother....I am bummed about one thing and one thing only. That's how long it's going to be before I actually get to see the car in person. LoL You are doing a great job and everyone here appreciates the efforts and sacrifices you and your crew have put into Karma. When the time comes, I know without a doubt that you will give the same care and attention to my next project and trust me when I say that you will have all the time you need with it. I am sure there are many here that feel the same. You have rightfully earned the respect and trust from our community.

I can't say it enough....Thank You.

Greg, the car isn't going to make SEMA this year....so you will have to stop by my place when the time comes.

Just a reminder, Pete is doing a TON to the car...but he isn't 'finishing' the car. The drive train, most interior, ect are still at my house. I and some friends (actually a few members here!) will assemble the car when it makes it's way home. When will that be...we don't know yet, we have never been on a schedule. Pete works on it when he can and that is ABSOLUTLY fine with me!! :lateral:

Cause I know its one of Tony's biggest fears. And he has been thinking about building a half wall in his garage to protect it from such things.

Bow Tie 67 10-30-2009 09:52 AM

I had all the kids toys in the shed and the wifes car was on the driveway when I had the show car. I did make sure to clean the snow off hers to keep the peace.

The car looks killer.
