I am glad you made it out yesterday to MATS. It was a very fun weekend. Hotchkis did a really nice job putting on a well run event with more runs that I have ever had in two days. Your Camaro is awesome. The power is unbelievable and the handling is just a few tweeks away from being REALLY GOOD. Thanks for the opportunity to take me for some rides and let me have my hands at the wheel. :D You will really feel the difference once you make the adjustements we talked about with the alignment. It does suprisingly well. I have so much engine braking with my big block and aluminum flywheel that it takes a unique driving style. Brian was struggling with it a little since he's used to LS engines. You really have to control front grip with the throttle.

I was thrilled to be that close to Mary & Brian.




The shocks definitely made a big difference. The good news is I need to work on the front end again to find a little more grip as the rear is biting better than ever laterally.

We talked about the direction of this hobby and the different type of cars last night. The truth of the matter is that cars like mine and Blue Balz aren't capable of competing with guys like Brian and Mike. It's a simple matter of physics. Our cars are just to heavy. We are gaining tenths and we need seconds to catch up to the top of the field. Mark Stielow is the only one I know of that can win with a car this heavy. Remember, he has 830 ft lbs and ABS. And he's one hell of a wheel man. Guess what he's doing. Building a lighter car. I'm really close to the end of the rope with this car and it's capabilites. I'm having trouble with the thought of selling it but my ideals have changed and I know what I'm capable of building with all my experience. The flip side is I hate to give up the streetability of the car. I've really tried to keep that alive through all my tweaks. It's a great ALL AROUND performer. I just crave the race part more than anything else at this point.
