I managed to find a guy with a set of front door fuzzies (NOS) yesterday. Not cheap but man do they fit nice. No comparison in quality and they just sit better on the top of the door edge. I was wondering why there were 2 extra screw holes for the fuzzies...now I know. ;)

Isn't it amazing that we now think something made by Chevrolet for what was at the time - a 'cheap '69 Camaro' - would be considered high quality! Tells you what the repop stuff is like.... :_paranoid :D

Finally got the glass back in the car over the last few nights....about 2- 2.5 hrs per side.

I found some excellent rubber grommets that I put on the studs that replace the original rubber goo and space the spoiler about 1/16 off the deck lid to prevent paint damage to the truck lid. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4536.jpg Dash totally cleaned and put back into the car. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/100_4539.jpg |

Thanks guys. It finally feels like it is progressing. Once the rest of the interior is back in, I know I am really close.

I like what I see. Have fun with those windows. Sometimes those tracks are a real pain!

I hear ya on the rubber stuff.... I have some OER brand on the doors now (just finished putting it together) and they are coming off as we speak. I got some METRO one's to try (received them friday) I could not get the doors to pass the first locking step and shut all the way.
I heard that the METRO stuff is better, i sure do hope so!!! It sucks when you put all the best parts you can and it doesn't work the way it should because of poor engineering.... Man! i mean, we go on the moon and can't even get some stupid repro rubber parts right...... I have the doors all put up together now. I had the idea that they would settle down as i finish other stuff before getting the car out ( 4 year resto now coming to an end in a few weeks!!) but they are still too ''bulbous'' and i wont get the car out like this. So, i have to take a few steps back and take the doors down to install the new rubbers. Hope they do their job!! Nice car you have, i love the red, Lead. |
