James - Congratulations it looks great.

I can't tell you how much I like watching the build of this car. It has to be one of my favorites.

Paint code/color please?

James,
Will the car be ready to race for the 2009 one lap race?

Ty, the paint is a custom mix based off of a BASF Glasurit color-max code. I can try and get you close (at least the base code) but my suggestion would be to find a Glasurit dealer and go through their color wheels for an hour or two. We sprayed out a couple of header panels a couple of times before we found exactly the color that I wanted and I would recommend that everybody do the same.

It should be. We are probably six weeks away from having the car together and on the road. Hopefully we can string together a few track days and have the car reasonably dialed in for May. A better question would be "will the driver be ready"?

Close enough

If you can get me close my painter and I can take it from there! Thanks!!

We got a couple of new bits and pieces from Matt at RFR while Chris was finishing with the wet sanding and polishing. The first part is our newly designed hood latch:

Chris is nearly finished the wet sand and polish, with just over 50 hours into the body at this point. That includes five passes of wet sanding ending at 2500 grit and three round of polishing. With the body now unmasked we are working on the final assembly.

The power windows are in and the glass is in place. We are working on the wing windows now and hopefully have them rebuilt tomorrow. Then we'll start aligning the glass.

We also got the exhaust back from Top Gun today with the entire assembly ceramic coated and ready for installation tomorrow. We've got an awesome new electrical system coming this week which we'll get in next week - it is completely revolutionary and has some killer features.
