For the next topic of discussion, I'd like to hear some feedback from the audience. My plan is to add some vinyl contingency decals to the car in black or silver. I'm personally kinda leaning towards the black vinyl as it goes with the whole subtle theme. The stripe on the car is black and I like the fact that only people looking closely ever see it. Having seen the silver numbers on the car, I'm also now thinking of going with that color. The decals will be tasteful, not over-done and all one solid color but I'm curious what you guys think...let me know.

Just a thought, contingency decals are meant for advertising purposes. If you can barely see them, how will the paying sponsor feel about that? I am all about subtle and like the black idea, but the silver does look nice. Would you like to split the difference and maybe a charcoal that is slightly more visible?

Duly noted on the black. I'm not so worried about paid sponsorships as they're likely not to happen anyway. I've considered the charcoal color as well. We'll see, I go back and forth on the whole idea anyway. Thanks!

If you look at Lance Hamilton's Monte Carlo "Barney", the orangish decals really complement the car color while getting his point across. Would do the same for yours, I think, in either black or charcoal.

Rixtrix1, thanks for the input. I checked out Lance's ride and the orange really pops...such a nice ride. Part of me loves the race decor b/c I've always had a thing for the original Trans-Am cars with the meatball numbers and regalia and yet the other side likes the subtleness and understated "factory" appearance (as far as paint). I just need to find the balance!

Got the car tuned this week. I knew it ran rich but was smooth and strong. Ended up picking up another 80 rear wheel HP and I must say, Holy Crap! It's like another car. That thing pulls like a freight train:drive:

At the end of the day, I'm at 452hp and 426lb ft of torque at the rear wheels. Not the most powerful thing out there but definitely strong enough to cause trouble! I tried uploading video but no bueno...

Ok, so here's a couple of videos I uploaded on YouTube of a couple of the dyno pulls... Let me know if the links don't work correctly.

Put all new glass in the car. Sourced it from Eckler's. All in all, everything fit well. I was dreading putting in the door and quarter windows but it actually went really smooth. Amazing what a difference glass can make!

So I ordered one of frankv11's cold air intake kits to take the place of the one I originally made for the car. The other one worked fine but needed a support brace and, most importantly, needed to be away from sucking hot air from behind the radiator. Frank's kit is really nice and he did a tremendous job getting my order turned around and out the door lightning fast. I wanted to have it in time to get it installed before HRPT so that obviously won't be a problem. Here's the initial mockup. Now I just need to get the tube pulled back out and painted before final assembly. This is one of the nicest kits I've seen for a first gen Camaro and well worth the money.
