And that's how you aero

How far are you going out with the splitter?

Al Moreno 02-26-2013 10:47 PM

Hello Jenny Craig!

Vince@Meanstreets 02-26-2013 11:38 PM

******* **** man

Payton King 02-27-2013 05:50 AM

Are you going to be selling the fenders?

I will be in the market for some this summer. How much?

BBC71Nova 02-27-2013 06:38 AM

Time for rename: Blu Balz ---> Balz Out :D

Looking good. I'm always surprised at how willing you and the owner are to continue with serious mods to a very nice "completed" build. Not too many would have the "Balz" to do that

Payton,

Anvil makes carbon fenders for 69's already. Blu is a 68.

And, the viper yellow looks good on your car. It would look damn good with the carbon as the black on your fenders.

Ron in SoCal 02-27-2013 10:37 AM

^ I think Payton knows this...

You're gonna have to ask Payton that.... :whistling:

Payton King 02-27-2013 12:38 PM

Yellow car was sold around April of 2012

It now resides in Az. Yes, I may have one in the works.

KPC67 02-27-2013 05:00 PM

Glad Payton asked first.
I would seriously consider a set as well, I bought too big of wheels for the front of my car:lostmarbles: . so rather than buy new wheels I think I should just buy wider fenders :G-Dub:

zingercustoms 02-27-2013 05:11 PM

great job on the carbon fiber...are you vacuum bagging? parts look great

Jr 02-27-2013 06:11 PM

JCG,

How big of a wheel is blue going to run in the front?

Cris@JCG 02-27-2013 07:08 PM

I currently have two local sources doing my molds with CF & fiberglass pcs.. Lucky I found these guys.. Not cheap to make molds.. but in the end worth the weight savings.. Karl owns the molds & has given me permission to pop some pcs off the molds.. but again it might be expensive.. I do not have molds for the inner fender wells.. Brett from Fab53 pulled parts off the top layer.. New to the composite world.. Brett can explain it in better!

Who is doing the fenders?

About 2.50 inches.. If all goes well we will be testing aero this weekend or next on another car..

LOL Chris, in all the excitement, didn't get to say hi last Saturday at RTTC. I will hook up with you next time.

The fenders look killer! I did speak with Carl and he mentioned the weight difference is about 68 lbs, that's awesome!

By the way, we are working on some CF three piece wheels for the project that will be debuting at SEMA if all goes well.

Cris@JCG 04-01-2013 08:17 PM

Been a while since I have shared any updates on Blu... Got all the new composite front clip painted & almost finished installing.. The guy that did the molds & parts for us did a great job! Parts fit with very little modifications on the fit...

Pic of the molds...

DSE Southern Slam, Heidts Performance Car Challenge, Faceoff Road America, RTMC - Run to Music City - Nashville Speedway, & a few local SCCA Autocross events in Karl’s home town.. Car is doing very well & is performing great.. A few issues @ the beginning with the car.. but have been sorted.. In a few weeks were off to Motorstate.. Looking forward to that event..

Here are some action shots from RTMC in Nashville.. Car even gets raced in the rain!!! Good thing the wipers worked..

I love seeing this car tear up the cones; this car gets pushed and seems really love it. Doesn't hurt that it always has excellent drivers.
