I got some pics yesterday from Alan Palmer's Customs who is doing the paint work on the the Donkey Kong car. He commented how nice it was to do body work on proper metal work. You can see by how much filler or bondo is used that the car is pretty straight with out filler.

The customer saw this post on here and sent me some pics from overseas to show the stance on the 60 ford. I was so focused on getting together for his son in law to see if before a weekend a few weeks back I forgot to take a picture of the stance. So He sent this to me this morning.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...rd/photo15.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...rd/photo7a.jpg We are trying to have all the metal work done and ready to swap this truck by the end of the month for a 36 ford 5 window. Then we can trade the truck out for a long over due car he promised his daughter 20 years ago. Frank and his son in law are going to get the mechanical work set up on the truck while we get the 48 and his daughters 36 ford 5 window together. |
We are getting some details wrapped up on the 48 truck project. I was sending pics to the customer and thought these were cool enough to share. We are going to paint the starter and rack & pinion body color here in the next few days.

Well Everybody keep say we must be really busy right now. I have been pretty quiet on here. We have been pretty busy. Getting the Big truck ready for Des Moines and Columbus.
We did a push to get Brandon's 55 together far enough as a baremetal roller to show the low stance of our Tri-5 chassis. We have been working on some custom control arms and steering arms to get everything optimum with the ability to run the frame 3.5" off the ground if you want to. We were able to stuff the new Budnik E85 wheels under the front and rear in Michelin rubber, 335/20 and 265/18. We could go a bit more with the some inner fender mods. The stack injection on a 572 looks awesome. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011042.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011044.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011046.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011045.jpg I designed up a new display cart for our booth and then vinyl wrapped the cart to show our Hot Rod fab parts brackets and some pictures of the some work we have done. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011049.jpg Brycen got the Tiger cage mounts set up on his chassis to be able to bolt the cage directly to the chassis with some minor floor mods. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011039.jpg Nic with the Donkey Kong Camaro picked a color and I will tell you it is perfect. He said him and his wife walked into the dealership and they both knew right away that this was it. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...proofs_225.jpg Got Michelin Rubber? http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...May2011028.jpg |
You can also say a little prayer for Jake. He is the spoiled shop dog that goes home with me everynight. I got him 10 years ago for valentines day. Well I got rid of the girl and he has been around here since day one of Ironworks. Well the vet said he has got Lymphoma. They say it will take him pretty quickly. So things around the shop will be pretty dull for a while. Anybody that has been to the shop has met Jake and knows he is a highlight of anybodies visit.
