So what will be the final color of the outside of the car ?

Marty the car was already repainted in the factory Summit white last year. This is were it got held up in paint jail, hence why we didn't make SEMA. Since we are updating the look, we will have to paint the new 2014 trunk, rear bumper, hood, front bumpers and rockers. Since all the ZL1 carbon stuff is now being replaced with Z/28 parts, rear spoiler, diffusers, flares, front splitter, hood insert and the carbon roof, those will also need to get satin clear. So in essence we will be redoing everything other than the quarters, doors, and front fenders.

Thanks Mike! Tom and Ted from Derale came by on Saturday to discuss SEMA display and mentioned as much as the picture show, it a must see in person.

Regarding Dan's attention to detail, he is replicating the Forgeline in CAD! I thought the prelims were already incredible!

Done. I'm trying to down size the picture so we can reload it as this image has lost a lot of the detail. The rendering is much nicer than what your seeing!

That's going to be a great looking car. Once finished, I think it would be cool to get a picture of it next to a stock Z28 just for comparison purposes.

Good luck to you guys!

That would be kinda cool. The Z/28 is an awesome car out of the box.

OK, so lets try these again.

Well its still losing 90% of the detail and crispness. I try reducing the size more.

Here are a few more.

Notice the factory plastic wicker bill is being replaced with an aluminum brush clear anodize version.

The diffuser is going to be a combo of carbon and brushed aluminum.

Thanks guys!

Dry sump plumbing time. The tank will need to notched into the frame rail for clearance. Breather is going on the other by the opposite to the brake booster to balance out both sides. All tanks (dry sump, breather, brake booster, PS, catch can and over flow) are getting anodize gray for continuity. Peterson used 5356 welding rod for the sump and breather tanks as normal welding rods will anodize in a different color and look funky.

Justin is cruising

More progress on the rear cradle. The diff will have different mount point options to raise it.

Here is the before

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3faf1b24.jpg

All the notches have super tight tolerances. Not an easy task.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ps58e32fa2.jpg

Fab up the bracket to relocated the gas filler cap in the trunk. The welds were done without any welding rod.

It will have a huge XRP super nickel -20 AN on the fitting with braided black hose routed to the tank. Should look cool.
