Not surprised about the windshield rust, luckily that is an easy/cheap fix on that area. My first red '69 project had the same issue. The hidden stuff beneath the paint seems awfully familiar, oh yeah my car was like that. Hahaha

I was kidding with my body guy a couple weeks ago, after having gone through this same thing as you are. I should have just bought a Dynacorn body to begin with. Doh!

Looking forward to the updates. If that were my car, I'd keep it white. Very few clean bright white (not Dover white) Camaros out there.

Yeah...opening one of these cars up is always an adventure. The Pepsi can is pretty crazy and 3 quarter panels? That's nuts!

New parts are on the way and it should be quick. It's just part of the process, but one that makes you go :confused59: for sure. LMAO

I mentioned that the drip rails where trashed and would need replacing. Well we looked a little deeper and found that the roof skin was going to need replacing in addition. Doing so will be faster and less expensive than trying to patch or repair.

A new roof skin has already been picked up! There is a chance that some of the roof bracing will have to be replaced, but we won't know for sure till the skin is off. :underchair:

I think it was originally a soft top car....it's about to be a vert! LMAO

Nah it's not really a big deal in my book. I fully expected to replace the floor and trunk pan. Kind of odd that it's the other way around, but whatever. Nothing is original these days and I'm not trying to keep it that way.

As nice as that car looked when you bought it I never would have thought that you were going to paint it, but I'm glad you went the route you did. l feel your pain, like a lot of people on this forum. I don't think you can ever truly trust someone you buy a car from whether complete or just a shell. I think anyone who is putting serious money into a project needs to go back start from nothing and have it blasted. Starting from square one is the only way to ensure you get a final product that you deserve after putting in all the work and money. It's frustrating as hell, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.
