New fan mounts? Mine are just black plastic... off to call Tony. :ups:
|
Nice progress as for the exhaust any chance you can remove some of the trunk floor and go into the trunk around the tank and come back down.
Not sure what tank your using but you can also consider using a mustang style tank that drops in from the top and give you plenty of extra space for exhaust. You can see that the well in the trunk has been removed and the tank has been elevated up to make the trunk floor flat. Which also hides the tank and allows you to place a crash bar across the rear frame rails to protect the tank at the back of the car. http://www.garagescene.net/upload/20...3-a6d803be.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/upload/20...2-73b30347.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/upload/20...6-fbbe44d6.jpg |
Better get busy Michael -- you only have a few days before Sonoma! LOL
Looks good buddy! |

I have thought about all that, went through pics of Mayhem with a microscope, he raised the trunk floor level with the side kickouts and welded on new gas tank/ floor braces/ brackets ... that worked with his Quadralink. Different with the RT 4 bar though, I would have to support/brace Ride Tech's sway bar that bolts to the trunk floor with a brace from the roll cage ... not sure how much clearance that would gain! Still trying to engineer it out like Mark would do, even thou I'm not an engineer ... might have think outside the box :popcorn2: Quote:
Hey thanks Greg, I will be there  Saturday morning driving up without the car though ... soon she'll be road ready! Michael |
Yep. I did the fan controller. Not sure I need it, since the FAST or Dakota Digital system will run it for me, with the AC.
Interestingly enough, I haven't installed anything yet. Getting there shortly, but the radiator doesn't seem to fit the support I have. |

Hmmmm ... I have the OEM radiator support and an AMD sitting in the bedroom, guess I'll have to check fitment tonight! Thanks |
Sorry, it was the aftermarket sub frame. I cut it to fit the radiator. I would have had to cut it for any radiator.
Yeah, I plan to use their fan controller, too. I am calling Tony tomorrow to figure switches. I do want the aluminum fan covers now. They look pimp. :) |

This is the cat's pajamas! Figured I'd try some of this Evapo-rust on my foot pedal bracket ... wow! I should have ordered more than a gallon cuz I couldn't submerge the part completely and had to keep shifting the part. Need a touch up but it's ready for some primer. My ER brake bracket is soaking now! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/8Bisfm.jpg Though I'd share a product that actually works .... |
I'll get some info this week.
Thing is, mine will be run by the FAST EFI controller. |
Twins ... well, I can check that off the list!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/LkQXWm.jpg Still need to dress her up a little, but that's another day! Thanks for looking ... |
Looking good there!.. nice radiator!.
Your definitely coming along. I'll have to get over there and check this thing out personally!. |

Guess where I just came from? Yeah, Utah .... took my boys to Bryce Canyon NP and on the way home stopped by and picked up some stuff from Speed Tech, thanks to my boys for riding along and helping me drive.
Roger showed us around the shop and then let me drive his 69 Camaro, very nice car, the 525hp GM motor is fantastic!! A big thanks to the folks over at Speed Tech for having us and answering all my dumb questions, A+++. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/9rFcIM.jpg Natural Arch was cool! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/JyG8ov.jpg Some of the goings on around the shop! There was a 67 Camaro that I was drooling over and asking a bunch of questions, didn't get any pics thou ... duh! More pics to come ..... |
Wow, enough said!!!

You switched out your subframe!? Day and night in quality for sure. Great choice!
|
Thanks for taking the time to stop in. sorry I didn't have any more time to visit. But always good to meet your customers.
Thanks for the support |
That subframe sure looks good,I have heard a lot of good things about Bryce Canyon.
|
Last time ...
I didn't care for the AMD stamping into the door jamb :bang: so I cut it back off and used my OEM door jamb, APITA but it looks so much better. One the bright side I knew where the jamb was placed by GM cuz all the welds I drilled out ... so I just screwed it back in place and went from there.
I also made the lower quarter to rocker panel turn in cuz AMD didn't do that right either. And I finished assembling the sub frame and then wrapped it in plastic wrap to keep it from getting grit and crap on it .... 200 yds? http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/6OG3Ac.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/QxTum6.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/LsVvrg.jpg Thanks for looking ... |

Good garage day!
MY goal for today was get that dang quarter panel on for the last time! Mission accomplished, sprayed SPI epoxy to all bare metal yesterday and then prepped the panels to receive 3m panel bond today and clamped it in place. Only took two years to attach the quarter panel ... not planned that way, but yeah it's done now!
Went ahead and sprayed the outer wheel houses while I had some epoxy mixed up, there are next to install for the last time! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/Fweben.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/UiBRmG.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/91MDFQ.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/zVcfgN.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/76XnMm.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/CaCJFF.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/y9VBq0.jpg Getting there, thanks for looking ..... |
I admire the heck out of anyone that can do that stuff. Nice work!
|
Nice update! Glad to see it going well.
|
Good progress, where did you get the radiator from?

Steve, I ordered the radiator from Entropy Inc. Really nice radiator, gonna have to do something about the bling though, black is back!! Look mom, no grinding down weld puddles!! Heck all I used was 60 grit on a block and then finished it with a flexible sanding block .... done in a half an hour!!!! Now what to do? Guess I could clean up the tail panel some ... http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/qnFAq0.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/D1RdzF.jpg Thanks for looking .... |
Good garage day!
Another good day.... getting ready to install the inner and outer wheel houses. I had to get some epoxy on the inner house, and the panel/ roll bar that I can't get to when the wheel wells are in .... figured I'd spray the jamb too!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/Fvc8Js.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/cLW2cu.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/69HbJR.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/iRfve5.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/KTCeLP.jpg I used Eastwood's frame epoxy on the rocker panels as far as I could reach with the tube, came out great! I'll let all this dry and then get the tubs installed for the last time, stay tuned! Thanks for looking .... |
This thread never disappoints.

Good garage day!

Thanks ... doing my best to get this ol girl on the road! The carnage from today ... I forget how dirty the process of removing a quarter panel was until today. lol I bonded the outer wheel house in and realized I didn't have enough product to get the inner attached, so I figured I might as well get the other side going, supposed to go faster on the second one, right? http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/yZ4aix.jpg How come GM didn't galvanize more parts on the car??? http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/Fd7OnO.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/nl53uD.jpg Little bit of rust ... just like other side, easy peasy! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/VV0Urx.jpg Still have to finish the mini tubs too! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/3xA7Le.jpg That's a little better! I still have to get the roof section, rocker panel, and drip rail off, that's maybe tomorrow's goal. Then start lining up the POS AMD quarter to the GM door jamb, it'll come off after the AMD is grafted in, and then get the mini tub finished before final placement of quarter. Thanks for looking ... |
Looks great Michael, busy weekend doing "Labor" Huh? I think once your over this sheetmetal hump it will be all downhill....optimistically....

 Thanks Art! I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel! Some progress going on ... finished getting all the quarter off and started the mini-tub,picked up the rear end from Vince (thanks for TIG'n all the brackets), my headers came in, sweet fer sure! The inner wheel house is bonded and sealed to the car forever now ... now I have to wait til its cures so I don't get grinding dust embedded in the adhesive! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/h7ZLv2.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/LzlitR.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...921/RoBMxY.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/BtdCZr.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/MTUNiX.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/sJXatF.jpg Say a prayer today for those lives that were lost and their families! :flag2: Thanks for looking .... |
Looks good Chief! You'll be done with metal work in no time!
Hard to believe it's been 15 years...a world changed forever. |
Man, those headers are a work of art. They will look right at home next to your handywork.
