I bought them for a project I was doing and then decided to go with one smaller "lesser" amp.... so they sat. Then I was going to use them in my '32 Highboy -- but that was a true roadster - so "stereo" was a complete waste.... then I sent 'em down to Roy Brizio for the '33 build - he said "no way - the car doesn't get a stereo and certainly not something that size --- so they sat some more. Finally - I have a spot behind the seat for them and at this point I would have made them build a box under the bed for them ---- because this is my last chance at any of this.... so "f it" -- they're in ! Gwen isn't in to "noisy" / lumpy cammed up hot rods.... and she was the only reason this truck is being built -- I was trying to sell it back in 2016 when I blew off all my other stuff.... and she said NO -- She wanted it completed.... so since she'll end up with it - I asked for a little quieter mufflers... (and added the cut outs for me!)..... Actually -- I'd thought about turning the truck in to a track day toy -- just a "dare to be different" -- I'd have put Roadster Shops more competition chassis under it -- and nastied up the motor some more -- and made room for some fat Hoosiers.... LOL Would have been cool to show up for a track day in an old truck... but that was mostly just a passing thought (maybe passing gas IDK). I really just wanted it to cruise around Sun Valley versus a "normal" car/truck... What I did know for sure was.... I didn't want a Riviera.... LOL |
" she was the only reason this truck is being built" cough cough bull**** cough
Just like the 33 was for her....... |
|
In reality they are driving around drinking beer and checking emails....

I tried to sell the project when it was still at Pinkee's in 2016. Gwen wanted it completed. The difference between Gwen and Shirley.... Shirley just wants you to spend more time in Arizona. LOL |

Wow amazing work, the paint detail pops right out at you. Clean engine bay.
|
Awesome work done!
Happy for you Greg. #greyisthenewwhite :D |
Wow!
|
That's pretty damn nice, they did a great job on the P&B.
Pinstripe and accent paint detail really work great with the color. Pinstripes even on the engine louvers! |
Looks incredible! Can't wait to see it next week!
|
That turned out incredible Greg!
|
Looks beautiful. Really appreciate the attention to detail.

It's old skool kool (the theme to start with) with great running gear.... Should be a hoot to drive. |

Wow, what a beauty! Talk about "slick"!
The tour will be the trip of a lifetime. We will all be waiting for the blow by blow coverage. I can just see you & Charley waiting (hoping?) for the other to have a glitch so you can blast by at speed while laying on the horn! Possibility of GG Street Machine & Early Truck of the year for you two? Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Have a great HOF! |

Honking?? NO!! One hand on the wheel -- while the other is flipping the goofball off...... I don't build anything for a "reward" or for a trophy -- or even for others to ooh and awe over..... I just like driving them!! I will consider it a total winner if Rudy and I have ZERO issues on the trip and we just get to enjoy the ride. Lucky for me - the builder has a large stacker trailer and Mike Kaiser (shop foreman supreme) will be following the whole tour.... so I know there's expertise and tools available. I don't EVER expect these old POS to be trouble free.... they never are... but little stuff is easily tightened up on the road. Mike has placed a spare STARTER (the issue I had last year with the '68 Corvette) - an Alternator - a fuel pump - belt - wheel bearings -- and a couple other parts in the little coffin in the bed..... so of course NONE of those things will be an issue whatsoever! LOL |
was thinking you may on the way TO SLC

Just for fun - I mapped driving "home" (I'll be homeless by the end of the tour) and Scottsdale is nowhere near St George.... So maybe you and Anita just need to come over for dinner and we'll go blow up a new set of tires! No weight and 550hp ought to make that pretty easy.... |
I am SOOOO excited to see the finished product Greg!!!! I love the colors and wheel choice. I am glued here for more pics
|
Greg- Definitely let me know when you roll into town.... :)
|
I am so excited for you!
Looking forward of a picture of you driving it! The huge smile, and possible finger out the window will be priceless! Dammit I wish I could see it in person, someday I hope! Joe |
