EDIT: ok i feel kinda stupid...i saw you meant the pen tool in PS...not an actual pen...ill have to try and figure out how that one works...but do you start with an actual image or do you usually start from scratch?

I t depends most guys do a rough sketch scan it and then use PS or illustrator.

I for one cant draw too well, its just easier for me to do it all in PS.I normally work with a source image on the right monitor and PS open on the left and go from there adding in color body mods wheels etc...
