Well I must admit that I lurk a lot.
Most of the time I'm on the road since I'm a long haul truck driver. But when I finally get home I hide in the garage where I'm rebuilding a 72 Corvette 454 4 spds that I found not far from my home when I moved here. The car was in good shape and never been touched, matching numbers and all but the frame was shot. The seller had a new complete rolling chassis and ran out of money or patience and put it for sale so I grabbed it. I like to see and learn from the incredible projects going on here. As of now, the car is completely dismantled and I reinforced the frame and plan to change a few things on the suspension. Get the body painted, rebuild the engine, probably change the tranny for a 5 spds, hydroboost ect. Mock everything to make sure everything fits send the frame to powdercoat. Then put it back together and drive the darn thing. |

[QUOTE=rjsjea]I visit almost daily........dont post much because I'm building a mopar A-body (Dodge Demon), not much mopar stuff here..QUOTE]
Dude! Dodge Demons are cool and far from oddball but still unique and when it looks like that mocked up, who cares what it is! It looks bitchin' and people here are so positive, you'll just get support. We're all just car guys so as long as it isn't a Donk or a stock Civic with an ugly bodykit glued on, you're among like minded folks. Let's see more of the Demon and the 510s and that truck sounds like a budget Japanese version of Marty's Syborg so let's see it too! |
Visit daily .Will post some pics up shortley I pretty much visit Camaro net. pro touring.com and here great sites i've learned so much from these three sites.

I haven't even posted my introduction yet! I'm amazed by the talent on this site, the overwhelming amount of information for my project, and the vendors that continue to support their service and parts after hours.
I was lucky enough to pick up a LM Chicane front subframe from Tyler during the summer, and since then have ordered Front and Rear Touring Classic C5 brakes, and a Vintage Air Gen IV system. LS conversion motor mounts and a complete T56 swap kit are on the shopping list for the first quarter next year. To answer your questions Tyler: I have found an answer for almost all of my questions on this site, and others like it. If I need clarification on a subject, or help making a buying decision, the vendors are just a phone call or email away. fortunately for the vendors, this site does what's intended and facilitates people making their dream-cars come true. I own a business that is open 365 days a year, 13 hours a day, I barely have time for my own project! However, with that being said, I've found that my ten year or older automotive/hot rod/racing technology experience may not provide the most relevant answer. I'd rather sideline myself to allow someone more focused or employed in the trade to come to the front with the most modern approach or remedy. After all, who hasn't been burned by poor advice in the past? |
Ha yeah Im guilty of lurking as well . I come here to get inspiration to keep going. Even though my car is just a conventional rebuild and not a sweet project like a lot of people here have, I enjoy reading and lookiing at the cool builds.
I'm 17 and rebuilding a 71 camaro (kind of on a budget, or so i tell myself) which will soon be my daily driver. Its no protouring machine but just a fun car to drive to work and school. If you want to check it out thatd be cool. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2832550 |
I come here at least once per week. I don't post much because I'm not building anything and I don't have a lot of mechanical experience. I'm just an artist that likes cool rides. I genuinely love cars, doesn't matter the type. When I post I mostly post in the art forum. Every so often I post on "ride" threads but I'm usually just saying "cool ride" or something similar.
