Where do you buy the handles and the CRAFTSMAN logo?

Very cool idea.. nicely done!

Good job Dad

You can either buy the extrusion in sticks of 10' (probably avail smaller, but that's all I found), or you can get them through the Sears service centers. I used the same rails for my kids room, but he wanted his drawers black.

Nice job Dad- Sorry if this sounds fruity, but just being there, and showing your kid that you are thinking about him will go a LONG way. I deal with some of America's best and worst 'kids' everday; you can generally tell who had a solid family & who didn't. The youngins' with a good family life usually hit the ground running, ready to take on responsibilty without any drama. Thanks for doing your part!

My son is into skateboarding,so I relaminated all of his old broken boards (cha-ching), and replaced the blades in his ceiling fan. Let's just say, it's been a challenege getting the balance just right, but it will spin on high without any wobble.

Handles are from ACE Hardware. I found the logo on eBay.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone. I love doing stuff like this for my son. He's the sweetest little 'almost two' year old I've ever seen and I'm not just saying that because I'm his Dad. He is bar none - a good boy. We're blessed. Hopefully he'll stay that way...

The great thing is that he really really loves cars. It's amazing. He always plays with his Matchbox cars and makes "vroom vroom" sounds. Every time he sees a car, he points and says "car". If I ask him what the engine does, he says "vroom vroom" again. I didn't teach him any of that! He must remember the sound from when he was blasting down the road 'in utero' in the Corvette. I wish I still had that car. He would love it!

Here's his picture from when he was 1. Boy time really flies!! We'll get new portraits when he turns 2 in July (right after his baby brother or sister is born).

I just reread your post with his pic. You have another one on the way, congrats. I am in the same spot as you, have a little boy who turns 2 next month, and another little boy coming late July. After seeing your idea my mind is going crazy with thoughts for bunk beds when they get older or something....

Yup. Another one on the way and this time we won't know the sex until he or she is born. We're excited. One is a lot of chaos but I'll take the chaos of my children over the chaos of my work, the world and all it's problems, the economy, etc. any day!
