its too bad thats the older g-bar set up:) wait till one of your upper links bends. didnt see any brakes on the rear yet? what weight springs did you use? i ended up with 200lb ones after the fact. still, it looks good.

Frank, Lets talk about this Ricks Tank a little. I have a Narrowed Ricks tank made for exteranal pumps. I have been reading and most people say to go with a internal pump for EFI. Now that being said, Should I send my tank back to rick and have it made for a internal pump or buy a standard tank?
Also my tank does not have the angled side for exhaust. should I have that narrowed or will it be ok as is ? |
Mark, your much better off with a internal pump for packing if nothing else. Also, notches (dog ears) on the corner of the tank help with tailpipe clearance for any 4 link application. It may be best to sell that tank and start over as opposed to getting it reworked. We can keep a note of it when we get a call for that tank, which is pretty often. Also, I might have pre bent tailpipes soon.

I agree, will get togethor on this. I spoke with Lisa and she gave me the specs on a new tank. I got a guy who may be interested in the one I got.

If the tank is a narrowed minitub tank I don't think you need to angle the sides, there is plenty of room for the exhaust. I used one with my G-Bar and there was no problem routing the exhaust. Don |
Don is correct. With a Mini Tub tank you do not need to clip the corners as the entire sides of the tank were trimed down. "MINI TUB" tanks are were named for the original moved inboard leaf spring set ups that were so popular before 4 links came out. Mark's tank is not a mini tub narrowed tank. Marks tank is bacially a full size carb or external pump tank.
When we build a tank for a G Bar or Quadrlink, we do not narrow the entire tank, just dog ear the corners. This helps keep some capacity in the tank. |
Correction, it is a narrowed minitub tank but with external NTP connections for external pump.
