Ahhh, didn't know (read) about dropping the body. Watch out for speed bumps @ speed. The rockers won't like that . . ....

I'm keeping up w/this one.

 Point taken. Well.... TX is a big 'ol state so I would gamble you don't have the monopoly on crappy roads ;) . Some of our freakin speed-bumps do seem to follow that state slogan (everything's bigger in TX).

That being said, I know in stock configuration the lower portion of the frame rail is approx .500-.750" below the pinch weld of the rocker. Providing that all drivetrain related parts are above the bottom of the frame, dropping the cab beyond the frame rail now means that rocker is going to be the first thing to contact earth (man made or otherwise.....).

ive been fooling around with my bed and front clip while waiting for my cab at the sandblaster. im realizing that my goal of 4in on the rockers maybe a little of a pipe dream with out bags. i have the front sitting at my initial height of 4in and i see what you mean ,4 in over a span of 12ft is asking for trouble, and im also seeing problems with the amount the hood clearance or lack there of. you know how it is theres how low you want it ,and how low you can drive it. im sure ill soon find that height, thats where the money for the coil overs starts to pay off. bill

Yikes, that LS motor sits higher than what I would have expected.

I'm planning the suspension on my 67 as well so I know all about trying to succeed in that 4" measurement @ ride height (as measured @ the C/L of the F/R cab mounts). I've got some advantage over you in that my frame will be chopped up slightly. Mine is also currently going the direction of air ride so 1" will be the clearance @ the cab mounts when the smoke clears (or the air is purged).

My set-up is C4 front suspension. For the rear, I'm sticking w/the truck arm set-up (no sense changing what's cheap & functional). I'm trying to incorporate a Watts link vs a Panhard bar but the simple packaging of the PHB might be the deciding factor.

I look forward to your updates.

finally getting some time to do some of the fun stuff, the windsheild is laid back 3in,the over all height came down 2in and the door opening is 1 3/4 in longer. the body is dropped 1 3/4 inch. its starting to look pretty cool. bill

This is gonna be a great build. I like the fact that it is a GMC too. I have always liked the grill/headlights on the GMC's
