Yeah, I would at least try it, would make it look way better until it gets the full treatment. :)

Another update. I stripped alot of the areas that need bondo. I still need to do the hood and maybe the drivers fender, I might need to get a new fender which is why I didn't finish it. I also need a new trunk lid which is why I didn't take the spoiler off. Anyways I am going to pay my friend there $400 or so to straighten the car out with bondo and prime it. Then it will be ready for paint!

What happened to this thought? I'm not coming down on you, just speaking from experience...
Unless you have the cash/time/money/money to do a paint job, it's usually best to wait until you can afford it. The guys who posted about trying to keep the paint know this also. I have made this mistake MANY times- I took body & fender in college (I was gonna open a resto shop), so I half-azzed know what I'm doing, and I still wish I had left some cars in OEM paint until I was TRUELY ready to paint.
I hope this is not the case w/ you. I hope you are gonna hit it- hot and heavy- and have your T/A ready for paint. I'd hate to see you get discouraged on your project.
Again- not coming down on you, just passing on some hard earned lessons.

I couldn't get it to pass inspection plus it is just way to hot outside to be a daily driver without A/C, I figured it would just be better to leave it there and work on it.

I started to strip the car down Monday morning. The 100+ temperatures make me sick to my stomach and I just couldn't work on it any more. I work from 8:00-2:00 and 12:00-6:00 depending on what day it is, by 2:00 it is hot and I am ready to go home. I finally manned up and came into work early at 8:00 and spent four hours on it when it was cool. By 3:45 I couldn't stand it any longer and left early, I was about to die from the heat. By the way I sweep, clean and also detail the cars as in wet sanding, buffing, washing etc.

So I am just paying my friend to do most of it. He is going to do the whole car in a day or so as in fix ALL the dents, fully straighten the driver door and then I am going to prime the car. I am going to strip the hood myself also and he is going to teach me a little body work. My other friend already helped me pop out the big dent in the passenger sail panel and we got most of the roof dent out.

He is only going to charge $400 or so. That is a good price to have it done right. Then the painter is going to paint it for me for like $500, we still aren't set on the price. I am going to pay him off for it since I want the paint to sit a few weeks and dry.

I will have $400 after I get paid tomorrow, so the bodywork will be paid off atleast.

I mean, I CAN do it and want to do it, but I can't work on the car and still do my job at the same time. My body just physically can't stand the heat.

So don't worry man, it WILL get done and I still love the car to death. I am going to do all I can do on the car, but there is things I don't know how to do which is why I am paying my friend.

Also here is what color black I am probably going with. It will be single stage since that is all I can afford right now and I want it done as soon as possible. The painter said the difference between single stage and BC/CC isn't enough to justify the cost.

I took this car all the way, I wet sanded, buffed and waxed. Sure does shine! Wish I had some pictures in the sunlight.

That's good to hear.
It's better to pay someone to do the job for you, and have it completed, than it is to let it languish. Nothing wrong w/ other people doing work for you while you earn money for your project.
I totally get the heat/work/stuff coming up aspect- that's why I wrote my other comment. It happened to me when I was in my late teens- I was taking autobody at college and lost my job. I decided to finish my project (hard decision w/ no money). I sold that project to fund my Trans Am rebuild. Fortunately, I soon had another job and was able to finish the T/A (in similar circumstances- early summer and 100*+ days!!). Things happen, then you have to figure out how to correct them. It sounds like you have things on track!

Go to www.performanceyears.com and do some searches. There are several people who have built turbo Poncho motors. The 2nd gen seems to be the most popular platform for them- although there is this 67 GTO that's OHHH SOOO NICE!!
