Yes, the wing is a functional necessity, as the full race version has an estimated top speed in excess of 250 mph. At that speed you'll appreciate the extra downforce.

That is wicked looking. I could probably afford the Factory Five supercar kit before I could afford a carbon fiber 69 though.

I recall seeing them on the booth roster at SEMA a few months back, when I was getting the booth for our deal. They were in the same tent, just a couple isles down, didn't know too much about them.

This will raise the whole "how do you get the darned thing titled" discussion again. I really wish someone could solve this issue in California, there are a lot of really cool ideas for cars like this that become far too difficult to pull off due to the laws. There is a guy close to use that has a full-on 65 Corvette Coupe body mold, I saw one of the finished bodies, it was amazingly tought, like crazy strong. It was a composite, not sure if it was kevlar, or what, but it would be IDEAL for a street rod. I'd guess the price wouldn't be ridiculous, especially what they ask for replacement early Corvette panels.

Anyone think this hobby is going to dry up? It is just getting saturated by new, cool things, but there is so much now, I wonder if demand will keep pace?

How close are the CF panels to stock? In other words, could you bolt on say the doors, hood, deck lid or even the entire front cap on an existing 69.

If so, will they be made in any material other than CF?

I do know they have done some extensive body mods in the roof area and front end...sectioning here and there as needed so my guess would be no the would not be interchangeable....however if the would make say the decklid and hood to facory demensions they could sell a ton of them!

Jay, as a side product have you thought of a front lower valence in this same style that could bolt on to a stock body? There are a several '69 Camaros out there that could use a effective splitter that doesn't look like it came from a dirt track car.

How about a combination of both? Anybody remember the Mercedes CLK GTR? They took the Mercedes sedan body and kind-of morphed it into a mid-engined car. Take the green-house area of a '69, shift it forward on a much-channeled body (complete with the '69 fender details). A laid back RS grill. A short "hood" with the cowl induction hump in the center. The rear engine cover would need the '69 SS hood "Stacks" right above the C5R motor. Kris Horton - got some spare time to draw this?

I'm only a dollar and 6 power ball numbers away from building one :-)
