If somebody thinks Ironworks did something to inspire them, that's cool, post it up. We do some nice work, but there are some guys out there who can kick some amazing ass in a workshop building amazing things that should be hung in a museum somewhere. I did not start this post to brag. I try to let our work speak for it self....

I wanted to create a thread that would take months and months to look at and examine all the amazing work in each different post. So post away post you links and pics. I need more car porn to look at.

Thanks guys, but I define inspirational as something somebody else does that makes you want to turn off the computer and go back out in to a cold shop and work to sharpen you skills that much more. ( Welding, Machine work, Solidworks, Tube bending, wiring, etc) It could be something that is not your style of car or project, but the work done on that item is so unreal it motivates you to do better. Or it could be a Pro-touring 69 camaro as long as it motivates you to want to improve your skills.

Enough people, including myself, self promote on this site, but I just wanted to see work that inspires no matter your skill level.

Rodger knows how to push my fabrication buttons, so I'll add my two cents.
INSPIRATION-What drives you to go out to the shop or even outdoors and build it better. Better because most of us, if not all of us, want it to better next time. Faster, cleaner, lighter, smoother, cooler, but just plain better. Not to impress anyone else, but for our own self. We want to make it better.
I will be the first to admit sometimes its hard to be inspired. Yes, there are alot of cool cars and trucks out there. But I'm not talking about cool. I'm talking about "What inspires you".
Inspires you to make what ever you're building better.

A couple of years ago I wanted to be able to TIG weld like the Indy car guys who had a shop down the street. The Indy Car shop was kind of an inspiration, but was almost to far out there in my mind. Anyway I went to my local community college started taking welding classes. I can MIG, but I wanted to weld like the big boys. Practice practice practice, four days a week, every night. Today I can TIG, but the pond of guys who can TIG weld is unbelievable, I jumped into a pond where I'm a peice of dirt.
My point is I was inspired to weld better and today I'm still inspired, but you might be suprised who is providing the inspiration.

Go back to the first page and look at Tom Hanna's fabrication.
Now go back and look again.
That should be enough inspiration to turn off the computer and go back to the shop do something, anything, just work on something.

Yes, we all have piles of parts that didn't work out, but the next time I built it, it was better. And maybe I even tried to use Tom Hanna's single sheer idea on my next bracket (did you notice the F9 bolts and button head stainless steel in the correct application).
Rodger is not going to be inspired by his own work (which is why he didn't post any of his own stuff).
I would bet that most guys (top builders too) are inspired buy someone else's work.

So post up the fabrication work that inpires YOU.
The fabrication that makes you drop everything go back to the shop.

If you have some time, and I do mean a lot of time (grab a bowl of popcorn) and want to see some fabrication porn...(and engineering porn)

Good thread Roger,You were right about looking at the bulkhead parts on the streamliner.Hanna's work is so good it looks easy.Put some more up there from that trip.

I have a 62 nova in the works, nothing much yet. I am paying for college right now, it will be a while (Mechanical Engineer):willy:

When I first met Rodger he told me that one of his clients got some inspiration towards the design on a frame from a constructed steel bridge.

Hanna's work is over the top! And the Sub car Scott posted is a metal masterpiece right down to the floor inserts
