I hear that there are already several '11 5.0 cars into the high 10s which is pretty amazing since no one has had much time to work with these cars yet...and that is with the stock cams. The redline is something like 7.5K if my memory serves....Awesome motor.

M5 price point = just a bit upmarket from Mustang GT price point

yeah, my point was a 32 valve 5.0 is not a very new thing. mercedes, lexus, bmw have been at it for years. It's all good news for pro touring guys though

Cool link Skip! Thanks! I would love to build a car like that, but with a LSx engine, mini-tub, killer suspension, etc., etc.

They need to take even more weight out, lower the center of gravity and a much better wheel/tire package. It can't get the power to the ground! Basically take the the boss 302 thinking and apply it to the gt500!

Yeah no kidding - the GT500 just has too many "luxury" items. Too much leather, too many options, etc. ....what about a lightweight GT500. Articulated competition buckets (like the Boss 302), harness belts, rear seat delete, delete sound deadener, on and on...If they could even drop another 150-200lbs. that car would be even more of a monster. Imagine a GT500 making 550 hp at even 3500 lbs.???

I can't remember if i heard it or read it on a forum, but I recall the Boss mustang having 440ish HP vs 412 for GT. Any truth to it?
