Every dog has it's day. I get the "I thought I'd live here forever" quite often in my business. I'm just pointing out another perspective, not bashing his project. I always think of resale. Of course, I'm in sales. :unibrow:

Dave:

Thanks for writing.

There will probably be some modifications as some of the logistics are worked out both the the final design and way a couple graphics are handled.

Thanks,

Ty

Now post up a better copy of that rendering so I can save it to my screen saver.

Curtis:

I'd love to post a really big one, but it is pretty limited how large can be posted. If you want a larger size email me.

Take care,

Ty

That is a very cool project, I love the body designs to the rear! Do you have a timeline for this car on completion?

Camaroguy:

I'd like to have it in the 4th Quarter. I don't want the build to last forever, I want to be driving her asap.

You know, places to go and Rubber to Burn!!

Thanks,

OMFG - Ty you have lost your mind and I love it

SO who is doing the fab work or are you doing it.

I'm going to do some of the interior, some technical designs, and I hope to build the Aero Parts. I would really like to try some of the reayl well designed ones I've seen. Since most of the speeds will be fairly slow ( < 100 mph) the designs will have to be more aggressive so hopefully some benefit can be realized by having them on the car.

Jake will be doing a lot of the "Heavy Lifting". I still don't have a lot of strength in my shoulder yet. I have a number of months left on that.

looks like my kinda project... I appreciate going against the modern silly big wheel look and using the lighter, more reasonable 17" diameter to keep the unsprung weight down. It will look way better than the rendering too with some tire on it.

do you have any side view renderings or rear iso to get a better idea of what that 2nd gen roof line looks like on it? Going with the "fastback" shape on the 69 is definitely thinking outside of the box.

edit - I just noticed the box next to the pic - I overlooked it/didn't see it 'til I went back after my post but I can see the roofline just fine there.

Love the 914!

First favorite car I ever had. I think I was about 8 y.o. at the time. I caught the bug early.

I think the subtle line changes will make working with the wind a bit easier. I really want to study and play around with that aspect of this car.

I want to get it to work first. If it also looks cool, all the better.

Same with the wheels. In testing if it needs more rake, and I can't get what I need out of the suspension adjustments, I can always put a taller wheel/tire combination on it.

Plus, by being able to lower the car easily, I think working with a smaller Diameter Wheel/Tire combination is a no brainer.

Thanks for writing,

Ty O'Neal
