If Im not mistaken, rebuilding a 350 would be less expensive than rebuilding a 305-if being built the same. Parts for a 350 usually are cheaper than just about anything else. And the pistons would be the only difference anyway, and thats if the pistons need replacing in the first place.

Oh, that makes more sense. Nothing wrong with a 305 besides lack of cubic inches...:)

and the shrouding of the valves.. will the valves in the vortech heads even clear the bores???

If Im not mistaken, they made 305 Vortec heads-in fact, I would think youd have to be careful not to put them on a 350. But Ive been wrong before.......

I've got a 84 square body that I've had for awhile, I just bought that front end from Nate at Porterbuilt can't wait to get started on it. It's like getting the complete DSE setup for a Camaro. I plan on bagging it and laying it on the ground:thumbsup: .

From what I recall, the C5 DM doesnt lay frame-close, but not quite. It just handles real well. Be sure and make a build thread, and link to it from here.
