Since I'm an all Apple guy...not a fruit... but for computers... I'll have to go get a specific computer for this whole racing shibangy.

What do you guys think of this?

I used to race Grand Prix Legends ALL the time before I had kids. GPL was the basis for I-Racing back when those guys worked at Sierra Sports. It was fantastic. The more seat time you got, the faster you got, it was extremely addicting. Wish I had the free time to do now.

Lets make sure you can drive. If all you want to do is smack talk you can do it cheaply. But that compute awesome.

There are some other compaines that market just to I racing.
Main Performance PC
Oreilly performance PC

The computer requirements are listed on I racing's site. You can turn down certain aspects of game to run on a slow computer.

I bought a set of these pedals a few months ago. WOW

Who says you can't buy talent.... I bought about 1.5 seconds at Laguna with these.

A computer won't help be drive... I'll suck at that -- but was thinking that it's all about the graphics and the display... I was going to use a 42" HD plasma I have out in the shed... and need a computer - so wasn't sure if a medium speed version with a high tech video graphics card is "great" --- or if you need the whiz bang gaming computer.

THOSE PEDALS ARE OMG!!

Love that!

EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA

Count me in on a weekly league. As a suggestion, could we run some of the unused track configurations, like Watkins Glen Classic or Road Atlanta Short. Neither of those are scheduled for the series I run in, so I'm more curious than anything.

IMO that machine would be overkill for a single monitor. A decent CPU matched with a 5770 or up ATI graphics card will support triple monitors. I run a 5770 with triple 22"s at 5040x1050 on an $800 Core2Duo workstation. I wouldn't trade the wider field of view of three monitors for any single screen.

Lino, welcome to the site. All of us need to race the track you know the least about. Or figure out how to chain your car to Greg's car with all those phone books to help slow you down.

Well guys I think we are up to 8-10 people so far. Since most are west coast at this point, except Tracy Weaver. I'm thinking about running Monday night at say 6:30 pacific. We will have maybe a 1/2 hour to hour practice session, with 2 laps of qualifiying and maybe a 15-20 lap main event. The starting order will be inverted. The fast guys have to make it through the field from the back. Sand baggers will be make fun of to no end online. The winner of the race has to share his setup with the rest of the field.

We also had the idea of doing a 5 lap demo derby just for fun. You just have to make your car last for 5 laps. But top qualifiers go to the front. But hopefully you have enough speed to get far enough away to not get pounded in turn one.
