Perhaps your results would be better if you told us a little more about what you want. Are there any member's cars you like that you are looking for one similar to? Camaro X may have been the buy of the year. I wish I had been in the market when it was for sale.

As far as Mustangs go, unless they have been sold, there were a couple of Ring Brothers Mustangs for sale a while back. I am sure Mike or Jim would know if they still are for sale as I beleive they knew the owner. For Camaros, there are no well known first gens I know of for sale right now. The Finch car seems to have everything you are looking for besides the sidepipes I would imagine. The Whidby car was in your price range, but must me too much of a street rod.

Mine could be bought, but since I didn't hear back from you I assume there is something you don't like about it.

Found \ Bought A Car!!!

Hello all. Well, the search has (finally) ended. Thanks to all who responded to my WTB post; lots of very nice cars out there for sure.

The car I bought satisfies most of what I was looking for:

1st gen. Camaro or Mustang - check, 1st gen. Camaro
LSX motor (or latest gen. Ford motor) - could be open here - well, big block
mini-tubbed - yup, car has a mini tub
5 or 6 speed - yup 5 speed
completed car, ready to roll - yup complete \ done car

In the end I realized I wanted both a show and go car. In that order really. I plan to show the car, and, drive it around town as often as I can but will never be an auto cross guy. So, I bought a car that is biased accordingly.

It is a Scott Whidbey (sp) car and has not been shown yet. The car has 80 miles on it. Plan to "debut" the car at the Sacramento Autorama in Feb. Few pics attached.

Thanks again for all of your referrals and support.

Take care,
Chris

Congrats on finding the right car Chris. When I first saw this car a few weeks back I thought you'd pass as it's more show than what I pictured you were looking for...

She's a beauty, that's for sure. I hope you got a smokin' deal and drive the hell out of it!

thanks guys

Guys,

Thanks for the kind words. No denying this car is more of a show car than I set out to buy, but, I plan to drive it around town as well. Just not an auto cross car. I plan to cover the leading edges with X-Pel or 3M clear bra and should be OK. According to those who have driven the car (a totla of 81 miles) it runs well and can haul the mail! Hope to have the car here next week or so and will both take some pics and give a driving report.

Shay, yea.....let's stay in touch.

Take care,
Chris

Congrats Chris. Very sharp looking car. Curious if you're gonna leave the subframe orange? (serious question :) )

Scott,

Many thanks. Just neeeeeed the car to get here!

Flash, not sure what if any changes I make. I plan to spend some time with the car and then see if there is anything I can do that will not un-do all of the cool work Scott did.

Chris
