Thanks Rick. No, they come black powder-coated, but they can either strip and re-coat or even easier just scuff and coat right over it in your color.

jody, are you guys using a single stage paint for the stripe?? sometimes after time and buffing they turn white. however standox and spies hecker is making a semi gloss clear coat, that can be buffed and works awesome, i doubted it until i tried it, its all i will use from now on

I was going to go with a single stage. I guess the only disadvantage of a matt clearcoat is that it will make the thickness a little more, but the extra protection may very well be worth it.

Jody, why paint it flat black when the car is already black? I think I would just mask it off and use a semi gloss clear.
