The beauty of hobby and pro builds is they both inspire the other. The builds on this site have definitely rekindled my passion and desire to take my car of 21 years to the next level.
Vendors take note, this is a powerful and targeted advertising medium. ;) |
I'm just now getting into this stuff as my car has been sitting for over 20 years. I check this place out everyday to see what is going on. At this point, I'm collecting parts and learning by looking.
I would love to be able to hand mine off to one of the pros, but my wife would not understand the money missing. Every build on here ives me new insight on how to do something or makes me wish I could do that. All I ask is that everyone keep updating the threads so I can see more. As far as the coolest, I think I agree with others in the WAR is outstanding. Thanks, HEEP |
I love following them all! But my all-time favorite is Bob Johnson's Cuda...

Thanks for the mention of my car guys but I believe Scott said the coolest car on Lat-G and there are many. Although I have not seen it yet I would think that Stuarts car would be at the top of the list, a build book and DSE car.....yeah. Dave's Camaro and Eric's Nova at Ironworks are also going to be over the top builds. Rodger's going to have show those in bare metal for a while.
And aside from the cars, the fab work I've seen on here from these shops and others like BBT, Southrod, James at ABS, Robbie at Pacific(forgive me if I left some out, to many) is what is great about this site. Wish Bobby Waldon was on here, insane metal man. There's just alot of real nice cars on this site, Pro and garage built. Great thread to start Scott. And your 69 was a great car, then you had to go sell it. Rodger, timing is everything, it's just not mine. I'll recruit Compos Mentis for my dirty work.:D |
my vote is for the mule

wow..cool thread- This is getting good! I can think of at least 10 builds that aren't Camaros that are worthy- now Camaros I can only think of about 15 or so that are worthy of top honors:D

WOW!! when I started this Thread I was hoping everbody would have one car that really made them go Wow!.Seems everybody has 3 or 4.But for me If I could only choose one and I had to keep it. It would be (The 72 camaro DSE built for Dale Jr.) Man I fell in love with that car from the moment I saw the spy photo's show up here on Lateral-G. Then when I saw the car at DSE's open house this last year WOW!!.I know there are aton of other great cars done and that are being built now on lateral-g,but I really like everything about that car.I just wish I didn't have to sell one finished car to start another one.Thank's everbody for chimming in. And thank's so much to those of you like what have built.I am just a Kansas farm boy trying to find my path in this world. :hail: Scott

i would also have to say dale jrs 72 camaro built by dse is one of my favorite cars. i have also seen this car in person and it is cool as s**t! I like pretty much everything dse builds but there are a ton of top notch builders and cars on this site. although the unlimited budget over the top builds are fun to watch I really like the homebuilt budget builds on here also...the small guys that do what they can with what they have. I fall into that category and i think its a pretty cool feeling to build a car with the resources you have and go out and thrash it and enjoy what you built. pretty cool when what you built at home in your garage can go out and run with guys like dse in an autocross.

Real car guys like 'em all.....
I've never seen a "well done" car I didn't like. I don't care who builds 'em. If they're done with care and attention to detail and someones heart is in it... then it's top notch. I've seen horrible "pro built" cars... and I've seen some 100% effort top notch home built cars. Personally - I'm in favor of the ones where there is constant improvement. Cars like these are not meant to be static dust collectors... things change - new products - LT1's get replaced with LS1's etc. That floats my boat. That is how the hobby moves forward. And for me -- favorites change -- Mule was #1 for many - then Jackass - now comes along Red Devil... etc. That's just one "thread" of cars and one type... and there are so many. I like Rodgers Playboy analogy as well. Nobody really wants to spend a lot of time ogling plain vanilla stuff... or average stuff... I think we all love the super killer builds even if we can never have that kind of car or do that kind of work. Forget the cars -- they just get us all together to have fun and BS.... That's the best "car" right there. |
