I was just thinking about the package tray area which I've yet to "seriously" address........if you're not running speakers with enclosures they are going to act like transfer ports reflecting trunk area sound off the rear glass. Installing some sort of acoustic barrier on the underside of the package tray should be noticeable.

What I did was put the dynmat on the underside of the tray and the dynaliner on the top under the little cardboard piece. Tunes seem better but whoever first put speakers in the car really made the metal tray mangled so you can't even get all the screws in sheetmetal. That's another project.

Do you have enclosures on the backside of the speakers? I believe the speaker itself will transfer some sound if not shielded. Just a guess though.

No I do not have enclosures.

Well I was wrong to blame the DSE tubs for the noise. Turns out it was axle bearings. Wow what a difference I'm glad that is taken care of!

Now that is funny.

What is?

Now what is wierd is that I never heard the bearings making noise until after work was done in the rear. Regardless one was near dead just their time.

Glad you got it taken care of before the bearing seized on you.

Could make for a wild ride. I wasn't driving it much because I knew something wasn't right. My friend and his brother went through the rear end for 200 bucks. No way to complain about that price huh.
