They have all kind of heat insulation materials. About the Holden Commodore, when Opel made them they were sold in the US as Cadillac Catera (only as a 4-door saloon). The coolest ones we have had here in Europe was the inline 6-cylinder twinturbo 500+ horsepower Lotus Omega 4 door saloon  Jan |
Thanks for the info Jan. Will check into them too..:)

Hey all, waking the dead thread here, but I figured I'd drop back past and say hi as I haven't been on here in a while. Plus I wanted to show Scott what I'd been up to. My pro touring style Australian Ford Falcon ute got to the point where it was looking a little too powerful for the street (I know.... you can never have too much power.. hehe), so I figured I needed to keen my licence and I'd race it legally.
Engine: Australian Ford DOHC 4.0L inline turbocharged 6 (factory power 400hp) - The BARRA Projected power on methanol: 1200+rwhp (so far these engines are young and there's 2 cars making near 1200 on non alcohol fuel) Concept http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...6_231022_n.jpg How it started http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/85345573.jpg Lowered/Wheels http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/85345571.jpg Weight loss http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/91548649.jpg http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/91548651.jpg New seats http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/91548653.jpg GT47 dummied up http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/95413700.jpg Process West plenum http://www.pbase.com/image/100081822.jpg 6Boost manifold http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/101689314.jpg Intercooler http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/106349551.jpg Roll cage, screen support being changed although I dig it. http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/125869692.jpg Ladder bars and diff http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/126102455.jpg Dash http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/126132372.jpg Chop chop http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/126132376.jpg Rear brakes and MT 33x10.5 slicks http://www.pbase.com/rotaute/image/126132381.jpg |

Rear wheels fit like a charm, tubs should be ready by Wednesday and the wheelie bars should be on by the middle of next week.
It won't be like a tube frame car though (unibody and factory trans tunnel says no to that) in the fact that they sit on the deck. I do like that, but I'm also digging how it sits. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3712914_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2608362_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3531158_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1827209_n.jpg |
Wheelie bars on, new shifter console/switch block done, parachute mount/cable&lever sorted.
