What an awesome opportunity to see two legends together. Out of that pair I am fonder of the F40, however there is no knocking an F50.
My holy grail of performance vehicle is the Mclaren F1 (the super rare LM more specifically). The F1 and F40 seem to be the standard for their respective decades, often compared as performance benchmarks. The Mclaren came into existence at the right time - modern regulations would have made for a very different car. For me it is the pinnacle and balance of design purity and uncompromised vehicle engineering - it was never intended to go racing, but with some tweaks it went on to take a 1,3,4,5 finish at the '95 24 Hours of Le Mans. Plus the 243 mph speed record it held onto for so many years... Unfortunately they are a bit out of my price range, fetching $6-8 million nowadays depending on model/history. ;) |

Yeah, a dealer tech - very challenging cars to work on, but it's fun - especially the road tests! |
A Tech, is that a regular mechanic or an "Tech" like an person who only diagnoses problems and troubleshoot "hard problems" like electrical stuff? Sorry if I ask, but I hear/see "Tech" being said often, just Wonder.
And the F40 is a really cool car man, I think it is much cooler than the newer, because of the looks and performance only car. :) Even though the newer are faster, they are not as brutal kind of, but it probably is fast compared/keep up to many modern cars still. 1100kg +470HP Should go decent. :) |

Maybe customers feel as if their $100/hr+ labor rate is better spent on a tech, then a so called grease monkey mechanic, . |

Yes Sieg, there are not many things that are easy to do on these cars The F40 is iconic and fun to drive but have you guys seen Chris Harris drive the F12 and go through 4 sets of tires - F12 is an absolute Beast!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjp1xjOzJqY Also look up Chris Harris and his volatile history with Ferrari |
