Your car is one of the nicest I have ever seen. |
Alignment
1 Attachment(s)
Winter is back in MN, so I figured I should update. The car was a handful on the first couple shake down runs. Mainly due to the eyeballed alignment. Bought a Longacre caster/camber gauge and set up a string box. Upper control arms are stock and in the factory position. Used ProForged tall upper ball joints, CPP 2" drop spindles, RideTech Tru-Turn, and QA1 coilovers. It took a lot of shims and are pretty much maxed out on header to control arm clearance. Specs are as follows:
RF LF Caster 3.2 3.4 Camber 1.2 1.4 Total Toe 0.0 |
New Wheels!
10 Attachment(s)
Upgraded to a new 18" wheel and tire setup. 18x9.5 and 18x11 NewGen Concave Lites with 275 and 315 BFG Rivals. The wheels are super nice, I bought the good aluminum wheel fit tool to make sure they would fit. They are close but good.

Your car looks great. Not usually a fan of the mini lights, but yours are different enough that I like them.
As to the 14k for what got done, that number seems right to me. Stripping it to bare metal and going up to that perfect black finish takes time and skill to do. You were not taken advantage of at all. Fair price for a great job. |
Your car really turned out very nice, wheels look good:thumbsup:

Looks awesome!! Love the new wheels!

Awesome! Love the wheels, and yeah you get what you pay for when it comes to paint. No such thing as a $3000 dollar paint job, unless you do it yourself.

Roll Bar Install
3 Attachment(s)
Just installed a 4 point roll bar from Wild Rides Racecars. The tubes come fish mouthed which is a nice feature. It wasn't built to comply with any particular sanctioning body, just pro touring. This was definitely something I wish I would have done before the car was painted and assembled.
First step after gutting the inside was to locate the main hoop on the rocker boxes. I then drilled 2" holes so I could drop the hoop in and mark the height and angle of the down tubes. Next I made the 6"x6" plates conform to the rocker boxes. I scored them with a grinder, then bent and welded them up. |
Roll Bar Install

I put the base plates in with Clekos and adjusted the fit of the main hoop.
The base plates in the trunk took a little more work to conform to the drop offs, but were done in the same manner, score, bend, and weld. I painted the majority of the roll bar prior to final installation with Rustoleum Hammered Black and a small foam roller. The entire interior was covered with red rosen paper and aluminum foil for protection. I first tacked the rear down bars to the main hoop, then pulled the front base plates out and dropped the main hoop into the rocker boxes. This allowed me the room to weld all the way around the tubes |
