Speedy recovery Rick!
Sorry about your mom bro. My mom has diabetes as well. She has to check blood levels 3 times a week.

Sturat, I have diabete Retinaopathy, we got the lazer in my right eye but as we were waiting for the right eye to clear up the left one started to have bleeding.

We tried two times with injections in the left eye but it kept bleeding. This last Saturday afternoon I saw what I thought was another bleed but it was the blood going behind my retina, looked like a blueish/greenish curtin by Sunday night.

The abnormal vessels pulled on the jelly which pulled on the retina and tore it. Well that what I heard from my doctor anyway, he mostly lost me once he said I was going in that next afternoon for surgery.

Make a cradle for hoverin above the 2nd gen (just kiddin as i know how bored we can get after surgery) Had my first surgery at 44, then another career ending one at 45 and yet another different at 46. Sux breaking. I call it "human patina" lol.

Take care bud and our prayers are with ya....

Update, I just got back from my Dr and everything is looking great!!! Still have to sit with my head down until this Friday but then I only have to have it down for 4 hours a day not 21! :confused59:

So glad I went when I did and didn't just wait until my next appointment, I most likely wouldn't have any vision in my left.
