It is Paul Alderman's DSE built Camaro.. he brought over to us to do some repairs & to be able to do our test & tune's! He had a blast that weekend that we expect to be seeing more of him @ our events..

Bob- I want to check that car out! if you raced with ken Mitchell then you would know Casey Cronin who raced in ESP & lived up north too.. he is who sets up our courses & taught me how to Auto-X!

Chris,
I will keep an eye out on your site
The Firebird has been on the back burner for many
years.. damn Pantera was taking up too much of my time
I am now focused on the bird and getting it dialed in
I ran for many years when Brian was a kid, along with
his dad, Frank and Maier's father in law who was my rival
in ESP in Norcal.. still the same old car and old driver with some
new things added

Thanks for the the info.. cool place to run the cars

Bob

Karl & JJ find some the most interesting beers when they come into town..

Speed racers

Chris,
Did Casey have a black 3rd gen
And worked teaching at Mather AFB

If so he would show up every once in a while
Smoke all of us and leave. He had his own
Practice course there and he was very fast

Bob

So Who/What is Speedlimit Racing?

Cris@JCG 01-23-2015 07:31 PM

It got started when I needed a place to tune Blu Balz.. It is how I meet Casey Cronin & Darren Friedman (Polished Kirkham Cobra).. Camarillo Airport granted JCG a permit to test & tune on the abandoned airway so I a few people would come in & run with me while I was dialing in Blu.. with the opportunity to run in Camarillo Darren saw that we could run small events close to us with a great location.. So he launched Speedlimit Racing in a formal format that had all the requirements for an Autocross event.. I did not have the time to commit to running an event but stay somewhat active in the events.. Casey sets up the courses & is the enforcer of the small list of rules we have..

Darren runs a very well organized event that get people plenty of run time by limiting it to 30 people per day.. We pretty much have an event once a month & now are looking at having some driving school with tuning days thru out the week but do not have a full commitment to it yet.. We are just blessed with a great central location with great weather..

Basic format for Speedlimit Racing is Autocross! no classes, no competion, recorded times @ the end of the day, plenty of time make adjustments between sessions, fast technical tracks, great grip on new sealed surface, You can run full aero packages on your car :D .. Wings are encouraged to match the planes that are landing over us while driving!

If you want to attend.. you must register on line! We sell out quick & people wait till the last minute thinking we will have spots to run & will squeeze them in..

This past weekend I coordinated a Test n Tune on Friday with some of my buddies & that is how we got some of the fast people in one place.. Then we ran in the event on Saturday & Sunday!

So sum day when you get your car completed.. It would be great for you to come run with us.. :whenitsdone:

Speed limit racing

Cris it sounds like a perfect event
With all the technology out there
It would be great to do some test and
tuning. I really want to learn how good
my car can be. Raced for so long with
just trying to keep it together with few
adjustments. Now time to see what can
work or not. Ran so many events with just
three runs it made it hard to figure things out

Cris, when are you going to perform some of your metal magic and put a t/a hood scoop on the car? Looks naked without it.
