Worth Goodguys show and the Optima event the following weekend. After that it will continue to make our normal circuit of Goodguys and Optima events.
Here is a short list of the components...

Lingenfelter LS7
MSD AirForce intake
Holley EFI
Earls lines and fittings
Bowler / Tremec T56
Centerforce clutch
Baer brakes
American Autowire wiring
DynoTech driveshafts
Forgeline wheels
Falken tires
C&R Radiator / fans / oilo cooler module
Hooker headers
Kicker Stereo
Classic Instruments gauges
Vintage Air front runner and A/C
Custom Image Corvette glass bumpers
Vaporworx fuel delivery system

...and some cool RideTech suspension stuff :)

You'll see the Fedex truck backed up to the door with a bunch of stuff from Summit Racing as well...heat and sound insulation...seats...gaskets...sealers...fluids... all the stuff that seems to get forgotten about!

The bad part...I don't get to drive it. Chris Smith will be the driver. You may have seen his 67 C10 truck on the Optima shows. It was kinda fast.

More soon!

Sounds like a very serious contender: ) Can't wait too see more!

Regards

Bret,

How wide of a tire will be used?

Very impressive list of parts.

bret 02-04-2015 03:33 PM

We have determined a "safe" fitment of 18x9.5 with a 275/35-18 tire with stock fenders. We may try to squeeze a 18x10.5 wheel with a 315 under there and see how much tire rub [if any] we can live with. Ultimately we will liklely flare the fenders and install an 18x11.5 with a 315 tire...but that won't happen on the show...probably a few weeks/months down the road.

Sounds good. I'll be watching the live streaming.

Hint: It's red now. It will end up yellow.

Will painting it be included in the 48 hour build window? If so wow...

Speaking of heat and sound insulation. Im doing some changes on the Mav. What is the plan for this for the 48hr-Vette?

Not paint. A wrap. Yes, it will be included. Well, most of it.

Just to clarify...anyone is welcome to attend the Corvete build this week. Bring your hotrod!

There will be a significant number of manufacturers here to oversee the installation of their parts...Rick Love from Vintage Air, Mike Copeland from Lingenfelters, Will Baty from Centerforce. Gabi Baer and Rick Elam from Baer Brakes, Michael Manning from American Autowire, John McLoud from Classic Instruments, Mark Bowler, Dave Schardt from Forgeline, Robin Lawrence from Holley EFI, Tim Anderson from Racepak, Paul Hammond from C&R Racing, Josh Powers from Custom Image Corvette, and likely a few more. Chad Reynolds is hosting the show on the live web feed. Tim Strange is coming up from NAshville...Bill Howell and Brian Finch have threatened to make an appearance. IT should be a good party!

The Corvette build will be kind of like an old fashioned barn raising...a bunch of friends getting together to eat, drink, and build a car. The TV camera thing is a happy coincidence. We've made a lot of preparations, but there is no script and everything is live. If something goes wrong...even VERY wrong...you'll see it as it happens. Hopefully our collective experience will allow us to achieve the same success as the first 48 Hour build in 2011.

A late development for the project...Snap On Tools and Monster Energy Drink have gotten on board. They have lots of friends that we don't even know yet...looking forward to that!

If you want to watch live...and participate in the live chatroom, here is the link: http://www.ridetech.com/48hourcorvette/

See you all on Tuesday morning!
