Meanwhile, underneath I welded in the Chris Alston trans cross member and boxed the frame rails. The hardest part of the rails was straightening all the years of jacks and jack stands bending the old frame rails, especially with the body on the car.

Oh yeah, before I coated the floor I put in the driveshaft and took out the rear springs and the bump stops to let the axle lay on the frame. The only clearance issue I had was under the rear seat so I cut it out and welded a taller piece in. Probably wouldn't normally be necessary unless you plan on the car being really low which I do

Sorry for so much on the trans tunnel but I've had a lot of people ask how to do it and I couldn't find a lot of images when I was looking so if someone likes this method hopefully it'll help.

I welded up the ol monster tach mount on top of the dash and decided to get rid of the old heater knobs in anticipation for a more modern ac/heater set up down the road.

So you can see in some of the photos the dash and door tops used to be painted a faux marble. I think getting rid of the old 90's marble is probably one of the biggest interior upgrades to me. LOL. I went with the Boss 338 wheels and I really like the flat grey against the shiny black so I felt bringing this color into the interior would be really nice. I also kinda felt that having some flatness against the black and chrome would make for some good contrast in the interior. I'm liking it so far. I went with House of Kolor Galaxy Grey with Hot Rod Flatz clear coat.
