Wayne, do you have a stock frame? Take pics as you test fit/trim!
I really want to low mount a SD7, I have a SpeedTech frame (the old one).
I should be able to test fit the LS very soon and then I can measure from the specs on the Alen Grove site.

Were you ever able to test fit a low mount SD7 with your Speedtech frame? I have the same frame and I am getting ready to buy a LSA motor so I am really interested in how that worked out for you. With the tensioner located where it is on a LSA FEAD I really don't have the option to high mount it. Not afraid of notching subframe if necessary.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, after a lot of measuring I decided to go with the CTS-V front drive and a Holley high mount bracket and SD7. Everything packages nicely. The alternator is a little close at the widest point, but there's still plenty of clearance.

At first I had the sbc frame stands (from my LT1) and I couldn't get the alternator to clear the frame rail. So I installed the correct LSx frame stands that move the motor to the passenger side slightly. That did the trick but killed any possibility of fitting a low mount AC compressor. Personally I don't feel there's enough frame rail to notch. It's not at all like a stock frame. There's just not a lot to cut on. I did notch my stock frame but didn't want to go that route with this ST frame.
So I gave up and went with the Holley bracket.
