Thanks so much for the input. All of this is helpful to a newbie like me. So I'm definitely going with a crate option for power instead of "modernizing" the old 400. The builder I'm working with suggest an LS paired with a Kenne Bell 3.6 SC similar to the photo thoughts? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...e6517488fa.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
That's a great choice in motors but what I've learned from the last 3 projects is less is more. Do a GM crate motor with a factory harness and a factory tune and you won't regret it. It will run and drive just like a new car which should be your end goal.

syborg tt, I agree with you but I don't see an unmolested crate option that will get me in the 850 hp range. You have any suggestions?

It's not 850hp but it's more then enough for a 2nd gen.
I have 2nd Gen with 468hp at the fly wheel and it's a handful. I also have a 650hp 5th gen and trust me that is plenty and it has scared the **** out of me on many occasions. People get hung up with big HP number which in most cases are completely useless for the street or track. Plus there are truly only a handful of people that can actually handle a car with high horsepower. In most case the HP gets us in trouble an we end up losing control of the car and wrecking the car. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...98e1f05942.jpg |

So I have my final rendering of what we are going to go with from a design standpoint. Next is to do the interior rendering. I'm open to ideas. Parts list will be posted next. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...2ede240bfb.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I really like the rendering...few notes just my opinion but I think your asking for them... here goes... the rear spoiler Love it.. the front iss very good looking but worried about practicality.. the tailpipes.. they look very busy with the defuser... i would either have the exhaust exit behind the wheel (like a bandit trans Am) and have the defuser go from side to side.. or have the tails exit as you have them and skip the defuser.. Love the concave wheels.
Also just wondering If you going OEM Brewster green or are you looking at newer greens? I am also going green and I have been obsessing on color and wanted to see if you have found any info or Websites were you can get a good look at the color. I plan on having my body guy do some spray outs... My current leading Green is Dark Olive Metallic from Porsche Quote:

Thanks for the input xlexustech. I kind of agree with you on the pipes.
On the color, it will be OEM Brewster Green as that is the color it currently is. My father purchased the car new in 71 and it has been in my family ever since. So keeping the OEM color is very important to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
