Chassis/floorpans

[QUOTE=jeff hanson;663141]. This is my first crack at all this welding so I'm sure it's far from perfect but I wanted to do it all myself this time around. I had most of the fab work on my last car done at a shop. /QUOTE]

seems like your welding is already better than factory.......NICE......:trophy-1302: :trophy-1302: :trophy-1302:

Very cool and thanks for the pictures. Pictures really help us follow along.

What are the specs on the 1961 Impala in the background? Is it yours? I happen to own one and they're a bit on the rare side (for an Impala) so I'm always interested to see another.

It's my dad's car. I'm working on my car in his garage. It's a super clean, low mileage, original car. 283/PG. All we did was lower it, install power front disc brakes, aluminum radiator, and wheels. We also painted the insert the darker color from the interior and matched the wheels by painting the face. The car has never been apart. Original paint with just a few touch ups. It's really quite astonishing how clean it is. That car gets so much attention, it's crazy. Everyone loves that thing. We just had it down at the Goodguys Columbus show a couple weeks ago. Hung out at the DSE trailer for a bit. My son got a ride in the autocross with Kyle. Super cool!👍https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d78a6df511.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ac318ad49e.jpg

Quite nice! Your dad should be proud of that one. Thanks for sharing.

Our Impalas have a similar stance but mine has been apart and back together about a million times before I bought it 25 years ago, mostly by people without the proper knowledge or tools. It was my daily driver and I have been lucky enough to keep it the entire time - even for a ten year span where I didn't drive it. Now I have built enough cars to have the knowledge and skill to build the 1961 Impala the way I want so I'm back at it. :)

For those expecting more Camaro updates, I apologize for the commercial break. :BlahBlah: Thank you for your patience, please carry on.

Remove the LCA bump stops.

If you're going to use the Ridetech swaybar you may have to remove the LCA bump stop. There isn't much clearance between the frame and the swaybar arms.

It's funny you should say that. I was actually thinking of removing it just because it's unnecessary but now I definitely will. Thanks 👍👍

I really need to get my pics posted but here's one of the Awesome Boze Clutch Concave wheels I'm going with. Zak really hooked me up for a second time and can't wait to get them!

Went to the Columbus Goodguys show and got some more ideas and actually ordered the 9" Currie rearend, and Synister front drive for the motor.

Got the tubs finally in the car and getting ready to get the DSE frame connectors in next and then move on to mocking up the motor/trans etc. Columbus got me excited again!

I promise I'll get some pics posted of the car asap but here's the wheels I just ordered!👍👍
Thanks again to Zak at Boze!!!

You're welcome Jeff! I'm happy to be a part of another one of your builds.

Thanks

Got pics of the new wheels today! Now I just need to patiently wait for them to get here! Thanks again Zak from BOZE for the teaser pics! They look sick! I'm sure they look even better in person. Thanks so much for the awesome customer service man. It's second to none!! Anyone looking for wheels please please please call Zak. You won't be disappointed!!

Stay tuned for many more updates. This build has had several changes in the last couple months. Things are starting to come together nicely...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0732f474c3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1696e6b14d.jpg

Got my wheels from BOZE! I was a little nervous on the Bronze color at first but I totally love them now that I've seen them in person! Thanks again Zak for taking care of me on the wheels!

As far as the rest of the build goes, I've switched gears on engine and suspension... I now have a DSE sub and Quadralink and switched from an LS3 to an LT4. We warmed up the LT4 with a cam, cnc port work from Katech, NX Supercharger lid, and a little bit smaller blower pulley from BTR. I'll have the engine next weekend. It was just painted over at Dutchboys shop. I'll get more pics of all this stuff once I have the engine next weekend. Hoping for some big power!

Waiting on a Rick's tank that should be here soon and a complete cooling package from Autorad (radiator support, radiator, intercooler, engine oil cooler, ps cooler, and condenser).

For now, I was super excited to get some shots posted with these wheels. Things should start progressing pretty regularly now and I'll update this much better than I have been. Here's a few more random pics from the last couple months...👍👍https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2a38cc76af.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0a7647d7b0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4dc59cb9a0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e129d5b937.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d75414a9b1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...45108439b5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1a74e6746b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2d134efa2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bd2aa30ef1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9ece141cd7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e449c91c3e.jpg

Awesome build to watch from you again Jeff!!! Isn't it peculiar how these builds seem to change (escalate) as they go?
