You have the SMOTY car.. how many past SMOTY cars ever get driven, driven hard? He ran the car at the Air Ride Putnam raceway challenge and (i think) ran the second fastest time of the day. He drove the car on a good part of the Power Tour and when he has broken the car it was because they were beating the crap out of it. I am also pretty sure the car has been over 180mph (I seem to remember reading that somewhere). So while it hasn't knocked down any crazy 1/4 mile times it has seen the track, seen the street and been beat on. That's more than 99% of the other high-end "show cars" I've seen. For that I give Johnson props. I just hopes he makes it to Maxton before the auction. |

BTW for a million dollars or so I would hope he could beat a ford mustang with airbags :D |
The Cuda was also put through its paces at the Pigeon Forge Event on the auto-x and then proceded to trash the rear end on the drag strip up against Prodigy which did the same thing at the same time ironically. I don't know of another street driven hot rod that cost as much to build as the Cuda that has had the sh$t driven out of it like Bob has driven his Cuda. The only thing I think that even comes close money wise is vintage race cars reliving there youth.

the cuda did not drive inthe auto x from hell at pigeon forge, drag racing was saturday, and auto x sunday

I'm sure any wear and tear that car took is being addressed before the auction. I gotta give kudos to Bob, he went out there and drove that car on Power Tour and then participated at Pigeon Forge. That's a lot more than any of these other blow job Boyd Coddington hacks who buy up cars and sit on them so they can turn around and make another 20 or 30 grand. Bob built a sensational car and then put it through it's proper paces. You can't ask for much more than that.

No one was more disappointed then Bob that the Cuda missed the autocross. Bob did not do the autocross because of the blown rear the day before drag racing, but he was there and ready to autocross. Even had a pro driver there to do some exhibition runs and see what the Cuda could really do if he pushed it. How many here would let a pro driver beat the snot out of there $10K, $25K, $50K, $100K car?
As for the hard numbers that did not get recorded, I suspect those numbers are more important to keyboard heroes, mathematicians and data collectors then potential suitors for this type of car. I know I will be at BJ to watch it go. And I want to be first bidder just so I can say I bid on it. I just hope there is a second bidder so some big guys don't have to try to shake the change out of my empty pockets to pay for it, LOL! |
All you need is two guys that want it, with big cash and ego's. We will see. Good luck.
