Feb 18th, the day my wife left! I was watching at a friends as she was moving out, I still feel bad about Dale Sr, alot more than my wife leaving, it was bad then but I'm much more happier!

I know when Mark Martain stops driving I'll be even less interested, I don't watch the races, but I check the papers om Monday,

Cheating is just part of racing !! I like to think of it as bending the rules ,but you can go only so far and you need to pick your OPORTUNITIES WELL, THEY DID NOT!!!! Winston or Nextel Cup has always had it !! they just don't want it anymore. I think thats probally a good thing, but their still gonna do it!!

Thank goodness for "cheaters".
Without them, innovations would not happen.
NASCAR sux anymore. stock car my big ole butt.
Other than Bristol, I don't see any of the races, just too boring.
Between the "car of tommorrow" rubber stamp car and the big business, it is just not what it used to be and then with Dale gone, who cares anymore. Jr could care less about racing, just how many tee shirts and hats he sales. You can not blame him and others for that, but the drivers are just not hungry anymore and it is just another track another Sunday drive for most of them.
I do like to see people think outside the box though and Mikry gets a nod here for trying. Don't be fooled into thinking $100K even raises an eyebrow to those guys, pocket change for them.

I went to Daytona last weekend to watch the world of outlaws run. I gave away my 500 tickets and came back home Sunday, rather watch it on TV.

NASCAR=boring:cars all look the same,are the same,round & round & round.

NHRA=excitement:8,000+ hp,flames wing high,night qualifying...need I go on?:_paranoid

I too lost interest when Dale died...

I also lost interest when Dale died, and agree with all the comments above about big business, and the common bodies etc... I call it NASJOKE my self.

But what is still fun to me is local saturday night (sometimes friday night) dirt track racing, whether it be late models,modified's, or sprint cars. they are a blast to watch and or compete.

NHRA is beyond words, I don't follow it very closely but love to go see it live, it tickles all of your senses.

I have never really been into NASCAR. If I'm flipping through channels I may watch for about 5-10 mins if that.

NHRA...Whole different stroy!! That will get your adrenaline going. Fuel cars..UNBELIEVABLE!! Unlike Football, you have to be there to take it all in and feel it. I enjoy all the different classes. From the excitement side of things I love the Fuel cars - but Pro Stock hands down the tightest and most technical class out there IMO. I'm kinda partial as I used to help run a couple of comp cars in B/A and B/AA. Combo was much like a Pro Stock Car, 500" 5 speed liberty in one and a Glide in the other. Both ran 7.40's - but that was like 4 years ago. One was a 66 Nova my buddy bult from scratch & the other was a old Pro Stock Oldsmobile of Kurt Johnson. Threw in a couple pics, the Olds was sold a few years ago...and you will see what happened to the Nova. He hasn't rebuilt it yet - but it's in the works.

I wonder with all the fines & drama going on if this will hurt NASCAR's ratings - or bump them up even more. Hopefully NHRA can steal more of their spotlight. NHRA has always played second to NASCAR IMO.

I've often wondered what that was like. Did the crowd have any idea he had died?
