I got out the TCP Power Rack & Pinion, Baer Bump Steer kit, and installed them.

The devil is in the details. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8150010.jpg |
Got the steering wheel installed.
Then I had to play a little. I installed the Carroll Shelby Signature gauges. (See , I got it up to 4000rpm! hah) Couldn't resist. I didn't mount the instruments, though. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8150012.jpg After I got everything installed, I set in it and , lock to lock is only 2 turns!!!! That is good, however the turning radius sure looks like it could be tighter: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8150017.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8150018.jpg |
Installed the upper rear scoops.
Ground down to metal for the bonding agent. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190001.jpg Taped it off and painted the fins and inside scoops gloss black. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190002.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190006.jpg Removed the tape. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190005.jpg Ground off the paint around the edges and trimmed it a little. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190007.jpg |
Squeezed out the bonding agent and spread it out. I put the bonding agent on the car and spread it, also.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190010.jpg See how the bonding agent fills the gap very well. The fiberglass does not need to be a perfect fit, just within 1/16". And don't squeeze out all the 8115. This is the finished product. It has no gaps and needs little or no filler. Photo does not do it justice! http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190013.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190016.jpg I prep'd the side scoop area. Whenever I sand down to metal, as a rule of thumb I always use an epoxy primer (not shown) to seal it. Some people will use bondo right on top of bare metal. I believe that you really need a sealing agent to keep the metal from rusting! So next will be an epoxy primer coat, and then a little feather fill. Note how I used a little Kitty Hair to fill between the fender flair and the rocker panel. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P8190017.jpg |

Oh yeah...I like it!

Gas Cap
Now for the fuel filler tube and Lemans style gas cap.

I dropped the front and rear running gear, and prepared the entire car for undercoating.
I shot the underside with 2 coats of Lizard Skin Sound Control and 2 coats of Lizard Skin Ceramic Heat Insulation. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P9010002.jpg Pictures are washed out. It is a little black, but very flat in color. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P9010007.jpg This is more how it really looks. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...6/P9010008.jpg I went ahead and shot one more coat of a product called Total Control. It is a glossier black, and has an orange peel finish. I went ahead and shot the engine compartment with this and I like how it turned out. I replaced the U&LCA's, spindles, brakes, tires, R&P, and coilover rear end tonight. All in about 3 hours. |
Holy Crap... That's a serious bunch of pics. Nice project you have there. That will be one sweet ride when completed.
