It's lingo for "Sub Frame Connectors"

Gotta put a stop to that pesky chassis flex and SFCs are the first step.

The exhaust looks awesome and sounds even better.

Steve Chryssos 09-03-2007 09:11 AM

The exhaust is a full custom arrangement made from bits and pieces ordered from Spin Tech. It helps that the Air Ride Air Bar does not utilize a panhard bar. Push button ride height adjustment will also make header clearance more bearable. Headers are off the shelf big tube Hookers.

awr68 09-03-2007 09:29 AM

Looks great guys! I'll have to do something very simular to get around my 4-bar setup....it's good to see a visual!

Awesome work... Which Spintech muffs? Sportsman?

ProdigyCustoms 09-03-2007 10:49 AM

Excellent work. How does it clear the Shockwave? Seems like this is the worst area of concern.

I do not want to steal the thread, but since people will be looking at exhaust ideas.........Here is what we did on Project EmptyNest. Because it is a mini tub, tail pipes are even more difficult to snake the pipes around the Shockwave and tank. So we went over the suspension. Seems to work out great, and minor fabrication for anyone already in doing tubs.

Nice work Frank, I mounted the compressors and air valve controller where you came through the trunk area, where will you be mounting that stuff? I thought about mounting the compressors under the car but i couldn't find a good spot.

by about an inch, i also wrapped the exhaust in that area to keep heat down just a bit more

ProdigyCustoms 09-03-2007 12:46 PM

The tank will sit right between the 2 humps almost lined up even with the vertical trunk trim panel we will install just below the hinges. Were making the tank pretty and exposing part of it through the trim panel. The compressor and other hardware will sit hidden in that compartment also.

Clearance is decent if you don't mini-tub and you run oval pipe. Lots of guys with custom rear suspension choose to run turn downs instead of tailpipes. That was not an option here. Custom tailpies are the only way to go.

68protouring454 09-03-2007 02:40 PM

with a narrowed tank the same set up would work perfect, only difference would be the 90's going out around tank would be shorter

Steve1968LS2 09-03-2007 04:30 PM

Cool deal.. 68s are going to REPRESENT at SEMA this year.. show that 69s arn't the only first gens ;)

vinz68 09-06-2007 06:41 PM

Nope. Jake got it done on schedule. He looks exhausted, :faint: but he got it done. Rollcage and interior will be done over the winter. Now it's time to drive the thing for a while.

Datsbad 09-09-2007 02:25 PM

Come on out to our shop. We've got one of everything--just about. Nothing like back to back comparisons.

Steve Chryssos 09-09-2007 04:56 PM

Cool, but we already planned on attending. No need for incentives. Thanks:thumbsup: Just save us a couple of good spots. Maybe three if the red car is back from re-wiring.

Steve1968LS2 09-09-2007 05:43 PM

Well, where are the pics? :)

Turned out nice. Looks like Jake does great work.

TravisB 09-10-2007 10:37 AM

Vinny,

Spoke with jake this moring he was talking about maybe a lil drag race???? something about a modded C5.....LOL.

Jake did say the car was extremly fast......nothing like the sound of a big block.

68protouring454 09-10-2007 11:08 AM

the car pulls very very hard, and does not sound like a 700 lift solid roller 496 chevy, the custom built pro systems carb is on the money, not a hesitation anywhere. 50 to 120 is a rush, not to mention the sound, unreal

vinz68 09-10-2007 12:00 PM

I'll post pics from pigeon fordge when i get back. It's supposed to rian here the next few days,so the next time i have it out will be in Tenn.
