Same diff. Love those old Torinos. Can you make yours look like that please?

Why am I talking smack? My car is gonna take about as long as yours to get on the road.

Add a seat to that bench.

Phil shot me a picture of my old 390 mocked up in the chassis. We had traded some cad photos and measurements of dry sump pans so Phil could confirm which pan would fit and where it would put my motor in the chassis. Here the motor is moved back and down from stock relative to the body.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...enginemoch.jpg

So I'm sold on going with Bill Daileys billet integrated pan and pump. Monday I'm buying one and having it sent to Phil for final mock up so RS can finish the motor mounts. With his pan the motor can drop close to 2" lower in the chassis. The bottom of this pan is only 1.8" below the pan rail on teh block.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...MMERPHOTO2.jpghttp://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...MMERPHOTO3.jpg

If I haven't said it already Phil and the group at the RS are really a pleasure to deal with.  In addition to the amazing work they do on every project even a lowly Torino.:D

Now I want one of these.

Yea it was good to meet you and Matt in person. Matt's car is the sheet for shizle even if I can't sit in it.

Dick, John and JR were all good peeps. BOS and JR were chocked full of nice cars:wow:

Lurch, so you can't fit in every car. That's why you're building you own...:D

(gonna go grab a beer and wait for your witty comeback )

You must be kidding, you know better. That is just a mock up for the wet jet. I'm branding the whole car Weld in the same theme as the ridetech car did with their new logo. Intros are doing the etching on the wheels for free. I'm just waiting on Ben to finish the rendering of the logo then it will be everywhere:rofl:

I would be careful about welding the motor mount bolts to the motor mounts it will make removing the motor somewhat difficult

Seriously though I wouldnt do that:rofl:

I don't think that is the intent of the sharpie note. It's not my writing it's someone with a little bit more chassis building talent.

This one's being done right with airjackers and slapper bars not like that Pegasus with all it's billet bling.

Was just joking with you , As far as chassis experience we will see if they can nail that "unique" stance your going for .....that's a dare

You already committed to making it happen on your Pegasus thread.    The airjackers and slapper bars were your vision for the car.

FETorino 06-22-2012 04:22 PM

Some parts of mine showed up at the RS so they can finish the motor and trans mounts. Phil was nice enough to snap some shots even though he didn't really like the pan:rofl:

What's not to like about that pan?

Maybe he didn't like it because now he can't build you one from scratch... (read: time and materials)

Kidding, Phil! :D

Rick D 06-22-2012 05:24 PM

Talk about low profile Rob, I don't think that will hag to low!

Matt@BOS 06-22-2012 06:10 PM

That dry sump pan is okay, but I think you should get that other dry sump that has the Ford GT motor attached to it.

Matt

Actually he really liked the pan. I think he's bummed that I'll be covering up his work of art chassis and the matching cool pan with a Torino body.

1.8" below the pan rail. I think the bellhousing will be an inch or more lower than the pan. It will let the RS guys drop the motor low in the frame. Bummer when that stuff happens huh:unibrow:

Not a chance young Mustang chopper :D Old School sideoiler power for my land yatch. Are you ready to sell me those Ford seats yet.:unibrow: Since you are cramming an LS in that build some ZR1 seats would make more sense.:D

The way I see it, those seats came out of something fast, and deserve to go back into something equally fast.

When your Torino is as fast as a Ford GT, we'll talk. Better hurry though, there's no way you're getting them once I put them in my car.

Define faster. David Pearson only got to 190mph at Daytona qualifying in 69 so my brick probably won't better the GT on top end even though I have more hp than the GT or Pearson. 1/4 mi drag race maybe.

I'll get nervous about you fitting those seats if you actually make some decisions on drivetrain and suspension for that Camarostang of yours.:D

The drivetrain will be as low in the frame as it can be, within reason.

There is a Ford GT that shows up to most events so you can test your theory. :unibrow:

My only theory is it will be an exciting car to drive and something a little different. :D

Well Todd you know as well as anyone once I get this thing to the track it will be a long road of tuning to get it "fast".:D

I've chosen some good parts and am working with good people for the base. I'll have plenty of power delivery and a chassis with good geometry to tune.

Spring rates, sway bar rates, shock valving, air pressure, yada yada yada..... There will be a lot of things to sort out. Step one I just need to keep focused on building a running car. :faint:

Vegas69 06-24-2012 10:56 AM

Agreed, get to to the finish line first, then the real work begins.

I'm ordering part of the suspension next week, I had to wait until BOS's security system was free of bugs and working perfectly because I figured there was a chance a couple of seats might go missing.

Anyway, I'm sure your car will be an exciting ride. I'm sure it will be a handful, but that doesn't mean it will be slow, it just means that it will be fun to drive at any speed.

Matt
