I forgot your car was a land barge. A bigger wheel definitely works. :D

Same diff. Love those old Torinos. Can you make yours look like that please?
Why am I talking smack? My car is gonna take about as long as yours to get on the road. Add a seat to that bench. |

Phil shot me a picture of my old 390 mocked up in the chassis. We had traded some cad photos and measurements of dry sump pans so Phil could confirm which pan would fit and where it would put my motor in the chassis. Here the motor is moved back and down from stock relative to the body.
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...enginemoch.jpg So I'm sold on going with Bill Daileys billet integrated pan and pump. Monday I'm buying one and having it sent to Phil for final mock up so RS can finish the motor mounts. With his pan the motor can drop close to 2" lower in the chassis. The bottom of this pan is only 1.8" below the pan rail on teh block. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...MMERPHOTO2.jpghttp://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...MMERPHOTO3.jpg If I haven't said it already Phil and the group at the RS are really a pleasure to deal with.  In addition to the amazing work they do on every project even a lowly Torino.:D |
Dude. I now have dry sump envy. Thanks.

When I drive up to the first event with ugly paint, folding chairs in the interior and no carpet you'll know where I spent my $$:D Now I want one of these. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...rjinca/sv1.jpg |
Rob...great choice on the pan and oiling! Your bottom side looks....uh, nevermind :_paranoid
Great hanging out today! Way better than a car show  |

Yea it was good to meet you and Matt in person. Matt's car is the sheet for shizle even if I can't sit in it. Dick, John and JR were all good peeps. BOS and JR were chocked full of nice cars:wow: |
Lurch, so you can't fit in every car. That's why you're building you own...:D
(gonna go grab a beer and wait for your witty comeback ) |

Some parts of mine showed up at the RS so they can finish the motor and trans mounts. Phil was nice enough to snap some shots even though he didn't really like the pan:rofl:

Is that one of those wacky dry sump things? :_paranoid
What's not to like about that pan? Maybe he didn't like it because now he can't build you one from scratch... (read: time and materials) Kidding, Phil! :D |
Talk about low profile Rob, I don't think that will hag to low!
|
That dry sump pan is okay, but I think you should get that other dry sump that has the Ford GT motor attached to it.

I'll get nervous about you fitting those seats if you actually make some decisions on drivetrain and suspension for that Camarostang of yours.:D Quote:

There is a Ford GT that shows up to most events so you can test your theory. :unibrow:

Well Todd you know as well as anyone once I get this thing to the track it will be a long road of tuning to get it "fast".:D I've chosen some good parts and am working with good people for the base. I'll have plenty of power delivery and a chassis with good geometry to tune. Spring rates, sway bar rates, shock valving, air pressure, yada yada yada..... There will be a lot of things to sort out. Step one I just need to keep focused on building a running car. :faint: |
Agreed, get to to the finish line first, then the real work begins.

Anyway, I'm sure your car will be an exciting ride. I'm sure it will be a handful, but that doesn't mean it will be slow, it just means that it will be fun to drive at any speed. Matt |
