I fall a little bit into the camp of don't get too busy with details on the car. For example I agree with others that Reactor had a bit too much machined bling on it - I thought it would have been just that much nicer with a bit more smoothness, and as others have posted this car might be on the edge of that as well. I also think both reactor and razor need to be about an inch lower over the wheels.

But two things - its obvious the quality and execution is as good as it gets.

And the main thing I really appreciate about the Ring stuff is the color selections and coordination- the brushed nickel plating on Reactor was awesome, and the mix of textures and colors is definitely their design strong point. THey've continued that strength on Razor. Just keep reigning in the desire to add too much doo-dads.

i am impressed how they stick to there guns on design .kona, recator, copperhead now razor all with the same details.
some builders have a set style and you can see that with all there cars and point one out in a crowd . now thats not a bad thing .
good luck with the car this year .

bigtyme1 02-08-2008 02:26 PM

They put those side vents on everything they do. They did them on the first mustang.
The thing that makes them really cool is the use of the carbon fiber around them. That to me is what sets them off.

Bowtieracing 02-08-2008 11:46 PM

I think Ring brothers are the best of the best. Their work is pure art in all levels. :hail:

Here are some of the design sketches that are for the Ring Brothers and Earve wollers camaro the Razor. So far the car has been a blast to work on and we plan to have a lot of fun with it this show season. I am reading a lot of the feedback and it seems like the car strikes quite an impression..which I think is good..I thank all of you guys for your comments (good and bad). I think if we had a car that struck nothing but postive comments than that means we did not do a car that would shake things up in the industry and try different things. Its been really great working with Mike,Jim and Tod over the past 4 years on there projects. They have a very talented crew which without them the sketch could not be pulled off. I have worked with a lot of fabricators and modelers in the automotive industry but I dont think any hold as much passion and talent than the Ring brothers and there crew. I can also note that even though I am the designer and somewhat consultant for there cars that at the end of the day the main design imput comes from Mike , Jim and what the owner intially wanted as a car. The body mods and over all exterior and interior were sketched by myself..while Bob thrash designed the whole paint scheme, logos and filled in the blanks and added his design imput as well. It was a honor to work with thrash as I have looked up to his work since I was 15. His touch added a great look to the car...Its important to note that we as a team strive to design a car with our own style. We are inspired by German sports cars, machine idustrial componets and an overall hard core look. We are always trying to do something that is different and at the same time keeping with our design language. We are not trying to hide or shave or smooth out the car rather we want to add to the cars original lines and adding functional and cool looking details. Thanks again for all the feed back
See you in Columbus

Thank you Sean for you personal input. I think you and Ring bros really nailed the "industrial" style wich is all over the high end super car styling nowdays. I fits on these cars superd!!!!

Ps , PM for you !!

navyflyer72 02-09-2008 05:45 AM

My thoughts

I would repeat the sentiments about the styling and beauty of this car, because I agree that this could easily be the most subtly aggressive and beautiful '69 I have ever seen, but I think what really needs to be pointed out is that while some people may not like 100% of the styling and design (I do though), it still catches your eye and you are attracted like a moth to a flame while you search out every single little detail of this amazing modernistic recreation of classic American muscle! Fantastic Job! :hail:

OK now let's make some of these parts for the rest of us!

G-Body 02-09-2008 07:15 AM

Whats the plans for the interior! and whos stitching it?

Sunkistcamaro 02-09-2008 08:04 PM

WOW, I'm impressed!!
I new they did great work but this is off the charts. :hail:

syborg tt 02-11-2008 11:41 AM

The more I look at this car the more I really really like it.

I would love to learn more about the cars build specs

Slammed58 02-12-2008 09:39 AM

Car looks killer. I knew you guys would do an awesome job on a Camaro, even if it isn't a Ford. You have done a great job of establishing a style and just like some others have said on here, everyone will be able to tell that the Ring Bros built it. Great job and keep up the good work.

bigtyme1 02-12-2008 08:10 PM

Question, How hard is it to keep that flat paint under the hood clean? It looks great.

XcYZ 02-12-2008 08:23 PM

I was looking through my pics and found a few more that I thought were worth posting.

I love that car, I can't wait to see it completed.

Bowtieracing 02-13-2008 09:34 AM

Thanks Scott!!!

Ringbrothers quality and ideas are out of this world. I love those endless small details i found everytime when i look at the pics.

I need to start whining team Killeen to make a build book of it:cool:

rjp71 02-13-2008 12:04 PM

What type of headlights are on the car? They appear to have a projector lens inside of the original lens or is the camera angle making it appear that way?

68camaro396 02-13-2008 03:19 PM

sub frame

Hey what up guys and gals, what type of subframe and suspension is the Razor running?

BLACKJACK 02-13-2008 04:41 PM

RAZOR ........... Sharp!!!

They nailed it.

19topless69 02-16-2008 09:15 AM

Sweet car, as always from them. Start mass producing those inner fenders,
they are awesome-- please!!

Gr8t68 02-16-2008 06:55 PM

Incredible. A real tribute to some of the best talent in the business. I'd hate to be the one who gets the bill for it. Any guesses as to how much razor cost to build or is that something you just don't ask.

trapin 02-18-2008 11:33 AM

Good Lord. Chip Foose eat your heart out. That thing puts the '69 he did with Unique to shame.

Absolutely phenomenal work. If the interior ends up on par with the exterior, you can go ahead and start engraving the SMOTY award.

Hell....this thing could be a Riddler contender.

bigtyme1 02-18-2008 02:37 PM

True. Maybe not a fair comparison.

Absolutely. Why not? A few years ago there was a '65 Chevy II that made it to the Great 8 that was built in the spirit of the Ring Bros. '69. But I think their car is even better than that car was.

That was 66 nova built by Roy Pigford. There is a ton more prep and detail work that goes into a riddler car than your average bad ass pro built car. Dont get me wrong this ring car is very nice, very detailed, very well built, but I think even they would agree its not a riddler car nor did they intend it to be. Did you not see the last car that won the riddler?

Hey scott why dont the Jim and Mike sign up and become a member? I know they watch it every day to see what everyone is saying.......

ok , i will start with " i dont dis-like the car or ring 's "
i understand what you are saying , realllllll nice built car . BUT you have been to cobo . the nova that pigford built was a different type car . mirror car ,mildy driven car , should have won the riddler that year . i am sure that rings camaro is nice , real nice , real real nice , BUT i will bet you if you ask jim or mike in person they will tell you its not a riddler car . SMOY maybe ? we will see i think it will be between the troy built nova and and the ring built camaro .

no reason to be sorry .

trapin 02-19-2008 05:59 AM

I see what you're saying. Yeah, it would be a long shot to win the Ridler because those judges tend to lean heavily on the million dollar roadsters but I also see no reason why it couldn't make the Great 8 like Pigford's car did.
