Thanks, appreciate it!

The Anvil stuff looks great. Any SWAG on the mass saving over the stock steel front sheet metal?

Thanks Mark

Thanks Mark, I want to say 80lbs or more. Tracy @Anvil did tell me a few months back but I forget the exact amount.

EDIT: probably a little more than 80lb savings..LOL. The full CF front end will weigh about 56lbs, less than the weight of a stock hood!!

Wow cool. Can't wait until I get the stuff. Are you planning on running a 11 inch wide front rim?

You car is looking good. Thank you for the information.

Mark

I have no clue how I missed this thread and it looks like you are building the car in your garage which is awesome !!

The Carter Hickman Rendering is looks perfect.

http://sites.google.com/site/redfire...al1024x768.jpg

and I love where you got your inspiration. ( yes I really want this car and so does my wife )

http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cro...-wi_800x0w.jpg

and the new Anvil front clip looks incredible. Are you planning on runing the driving lights on your front clip similar to what Mark posted in his thread.

http://sites.google.com/site/redfire...tm/fender1.jpg

ps - I assume you are running there new inner fenders also and I love the fact that you can get a replacement fender if you happen to damage your fender.

I can't wait to see this car in paint as it is exactly what I would build if I was doing a 69 Camaro. This car really has me excited to see it finished.

When you fit those, where is all that air going to vent?
Do you have some kinda ducting or air box on the back?

Loving the build though.

I know I have seen the thread, but I don't know if I have seen the rendering. If you can get close to that rendering you will really have something special.

Thanks! I've got the front light buckets from Anvil. I haven't test fit my Marquez lights yet but have been told they fit. I also plan on running the CF inner fenders along with the custom extensions to mate up with the wide body fenders. Thanks again, Ron :lateral:

Hi Amit, I plan on fabbing air ducts from the quarter vents to the inner wheel well for additional brake cooling. I'll post up pics when I'm working on those... Thanks, Ron

Thanks Stephen, appreciate it! It make take a while doing most of the build myself, but the rendering is close to my vision and keeps me motivated! Ron

Ron, I love this project. I just wish I had to time to tackle what you have done in your garage. Between work, kids & mountain bike I have no free time left.

When I grow up or when my kids grow up and move out (yes I will be very sad when that happens). I am hoping to have the drive to do what your doing in your garage.

waynieZ 09-10-2013 01:30 PM

It looks great Ron. Nice work.

Thanks Marty! I know how that is to juggle work, kids, and life in general. What I thought would be a two year project is currently in year five, LoL!

This is amazing, so jealous of all the Anvil parts. Im going to probably be using a bunch of their parts. I have a few questions for you though, maybe you could answer with pictures even at your convenience.

I love that lower front valance. I guess it eliminates the factory front bumper? Can you post a picture of how it finishes off at the grille? Can you see between the gap to whats behind?

Whats the lead time on Anvil stuff, most of it is on back order on their site.

No problem. The valance does replace the front bumper. It fits much tighter to the grille that the factory bumper so you don't see much of a gap between the valance and the grille. The grille must be installed first and may need a lower support fabbed for stability. I would call Anvil directly on lead time since they usually produce the parts in batches. Ron

Looks so clean without a bumper. Definitely goi to get that piece. Probably go fiberglass on it though since I will be painting.

small update

So while the quarters are still under the knife, I've got a small update. I finished the surgery on the headlight buckets, mounts, and trim rings to house the Ring Brothers style lights and trim rings....

Sweet car. I'm taking notes on the side vents. I've been thinking along the same line but without the CF. Looks great.

I've got the rear clip more about halfway completely welded. Fitting, refitting, and re-refitting the panels is really paying off now.

Ron great to see some progress on this car.

On a side note the HD headlight are nice and we have similar on Dads 57 and while the lights are okay at night they are not great. We found an LED Bulb solution for them and I plan to order the bulbs in the next couple days. I will keep you posted on the light quality after the install.

Vince@Meanstreets 09-15-2015 12:56 PM

great update Ron, nice work.

Did it have the spot weld tongs for the tail panel or did you have to buy them?
