The Summer Nats were ok. I went Friday and Saturday. A lot of the cars there are "stuck" in the 80's. They all have the "old school" Cragar wheels with big tires out back that stick out of the wheel wells. lol I think the only pro-tour car I've seen there was Morgan's '68 convertible Camaro. AND that was last year. There were some really clean cars there as well though. I hung out with Ben Hermance and his buddy Mike (SSYNISTER), who is also on this site on both days. 2 great guys. You really didn't miss too much. Some great burnouts though. Are you going to the Custom & Rods show? |
I'm going to try to make it. Last year I got there late sunday. But I still saw some nice cars.

Hey guys just got back after being of the site for a bit. Looking to get my 68 running again after 2 years.
Fnquik, that is one good looking ride so far. it must also be one heck of an expensive build too. Tones i was at the summer Nats and meet Ben a few years agao. His work is incredible. Yea ya know i told my wife you dont see any rides that are of Pro touring quality or of todays style. Lots of nice cars but was disappointed to not see any unique suspensions or engine builds. Crap loads of stangs though. My wife said no one wants to bring there high dollar builds like on this site because of where it is held. May be true. Tons of mud this year. FN keep up on the pics i bet it will turn out better than you will ever expect it to. |

Yeah, you NEVER see any pro-touring car around here at all. Morgan had his '68 por-tour Camaro last year and won some type of an award. RIGHTFULLY SO!!! |
Wow.......I thought I was doin alot of work.....looks like it will be a very nice car when done.......!
|
Yes it should be sweet , Mike does some awesome work. Seeing those pictures make me miss it even more. I would love to take it for a ride even in that condition it was a nice car.

Thanks for asking guys but nothing to report. Mike is finnishing Rich's car then he promised mine is next . He has it all mocked up . He has to remove the sheet metal and undercoat the inner body then weld up the sheet metal and set all the gaps . He's also making rear brackets to mount my Corvette Z51 brakes with the Corvette parking brake. Thats one of the things I'm sycked about the factory parking brake. I don't like the driveshaft parking brakes. He's also smoothing the firewall and painting it and the bottom with Sikens paint . I had asked him to move the wiper under the drivers fender I have to see if I have the money for that. I was worried about going for it in the winter but I don't care if its a blizzard when its done I'll put chains on my Tahoe. I need to get to work on it to get me out of this funk my mind has been in for a while.
I did order my Fast XFI Harness and duel sync distributor Friday . It should be here this Friday. At least I'll have some parts to play with. I liked the pictures of when Rich put his sub frame and rear together and pretended to drive it . So I put my trans with the shifter on it and sat next to it. My wife beat me with the broom. Of coarse I WAS in the living room at the time. I figure it will be safe to back in the house in a few days .lol Thanks again for asking it feels good to even just talk about it .... Wayne |

Wayne, that is going to be a awesome car when done. I wouldn't suggest doing anymore setups in the house. As for your Z51 brakes. I am doing the same exact thing. I bought the whole brake assembly with parking parts also. I was going to work on that last weekend. Then my friend brough his 69 over and now I am doing floor pans on it.

It's good to hear that your car is next to be completed! It's been a long wait, but as you know it will be well worth it! No doubt it will be better than new!! Keep the chin up...it won't be too long now!
|
Im sure it will be worth the wait. They do awesome work. I look forward to more progress pics.
|
Wayne any time line yet?? I wanna see this thing!!!:willy:

I'm sure it's going to be kick ass! |
Thanks guys I'm sycked to think about getting it back. I know the work will be excelent like all Mike's work. He's so particular when he does the gaps and fitment which is one of the most critical parts to a build. I'm glad he's doing mine.
Tony and Nick your on when I get it I'll let you know so we can get together. Mario No time line yet but Thats a club I'll be happy to join. |

I am suprised how many are watching your car Wayne. I have been watching it for awhile now and am very impressed with it so far. I am sure it will be great.
|
Thanks Sam . Their aren't any updates on the body but I just got my main harness and dual sync distributor for my Fast XFI Friday. We'll atleast I can read the instructions . lol I would like to get the instalation CD they sell but $30 is a lot for a 30 cent piece of plastic sense funds are running lowwwww.

Very nice Wayne. You are going to have one nice piece there. When do you expect it home?

Mike is working on finnishing a car now that should be done very soon. Then he promised mine is next ! I haven't even seen it in over a year accept in pictures. He's 840 miles away. Last time I saw it I left from my brothers house in Florida but I can't win it was still over 500 miles from there.
I'm getting so anxious to have it here to get working on it. I'm like a big kid waiting for Christmas morning to come. And my wife will attest to the fact I'm like a big kid ! The waiting is so tuff. Wayne |

Should be a killer car.  |
When I get it back I'll give you a buzz. But it will be cold by then. I finally got to go to the cruize night at Patriot Place . Some real nice cars there . The weather was great low 80's sunny .I don't think the next one will be that nice, weather wise. I put on a lot of miles walking to checking them out. It was a good time.

Yeah, the show @ PATS place gets pretty big. I heard over 1,000 cars one time!:wow: |

Don't feel bad Kjel Mine was suposed to be done June of the year you came here to talk Mike to do yours. He needed time to finnish one that summer.

Three years past due is ridiculous. I've been seeing more and more posts in regards to his tardiness. Sounds like he does good work but over promises and under delivers.:thmbsdwn: Hang in there buddy.
