Do Brian and Sam still work Saturday's? Maybe I'll come out and shoot some better pics for everyone. ASP built the procharger motor for my red '89 T/A a couple years ago and I haven't been out there since I sold it. I've been looking for a place to dyno my '91 ZR-1, maybe Brian will give me a "returning customer" discount... |
Hey matt
Great idea! sounds like a good saturday taking pics of the camaro and running the vette. Any guesses at what it will make? I agree with everyone else I think a camera would be a great group gift for PhillyM5! Quote:

Looks like it's gonna be one hell of a car, I'm def jealous.

When is the new website going to be done? |
What no Procharger or turbos?:( The new site is coming along but some of the new technology is so advanced our guys are a little behind schedule. It will be worth the wait. In the mean time you can look forward to more blackberry pics!:D

Well.... couple more BB pics.
Brian finished up the Turbo headers. They came looking like pieces of art. I don't even want to put them on the car. Keeping them on the bench and just staring at them makes me happy.:) Here they are sitting with the Bullseye 66 mills. The body is in its final blocking stage. As soon as the door panels get here (to measure up the fit of the cage)... she will be sprayed and reassembled. |
Lookin sweet!
|
Very cool. They do look like pieces of art!
Awesome. |
any progress?

Just today we used our "mock up cowl" (old rusted 69 camaro cowl) to fit all the Marquez upper and lower dash, bezzle, guages, brackets, ect... and also to mock up the locations for the computers and run the harnesses. Basically getting everything prepped to be transfered to the "real" car in a short time. In the next day or two the interior will start getting wrapped in suede and leather. We also finished the intercooler... and have started making the piping. I should have some pretty good update photo's pretty soon. Oh yeah... we cut the original filler neck off the Ricks tank.. made a patch piece.. and now are making the new filler neck in its new location. We have only 6-7 weeks to have the car finished. :faint: probably some pretty long nights ahead...lol. |
Very cool. We will be on the lookout for updated pics.
|
I don't know HOW I missed this thread, thing looks killah!
|
i swear some one stole this car from my head. i was keeping it safe in my mind and then somehow it was built.. kinda freakin out about it really.. its cool as ****..

Thanks for the compliments guys. Here are some more "blackberry pics"...lol. Basically the pics from the update a couple posts ago. When we were fitting the BRAND NEW (2 year old though, just never installed) Ricks twin A1000 fuel tank.... I would keep hearing something rattle around in there. When i opened it up to clean out the metal shavings and all.... i found a big ol chunk of aluminum :wow: lol. Pretty random. Also... the car is freshly primed. As in just a couple hours ago. Here are a couple pics while it is drying. I really like the dark one because you can see the shadow and how well the lines came out. Yes.. i know.. hard to tell with the blackberry.... lol. Intercooler is done. The Marquez mock up is coming along nicely. We should be finished with fitting in the next day or two.... then it will be getting sewed up. thanks again for the compliments. |
Very nice.
Dash is looking good too. Very unique. |
we rolled the car outside for a bit.... got some better pics for you guys.
The radiator, core support, trim bezzle on the bumper, inner fenders, ect are all still "mock up" pieces... so they aren't "pretty" yet. |
Dude that seriously kicks ass!!
|
As much as I can appreciate all the work put into the body mods on this car, its a bit too Veilside for a muscle car.
Progress looks great though. Hopefully this cars actually driven unlike Rob's  |

Robs car actually got driven quite a bit too. Just not by him. His partner in Rogue Status drove it for 6 months or so. They took it on Bullrun and a few other events. Actually.. its been beaten on pretty hard. Hopefully this blocking process won't take too much time. We are hoping to have some color on her by the end of the week..... dang... thats in two days!! I better get back to work. |

Good to hear its actually getting a work out by someone. It made me laugh when I found out he was scared of it. Some people just aren't down with the horsepower bug. Once its complete if you find yourself out here in LA send me a PM and we'll get a track event organized where we can go beat on them out at Buttonwillow or Streets of Willow. Kens going to have his handful trying to drive a RWD high horsepower first gen like an AWD subie  It can be done but he better get a lot of practice in  |
Looking forward to some youtube videos. That will be very cool.
The rear end of that Camaro looks pretty mean. I like it!  |
Im loving it! For some reason though that side shot makes me think mustang:question:

I can see it a bit...lol. After we work on a couple spots.... the car gets completely taken back apart. All the suspension is getting powder coated. The suede and leather will be here tomorrow.... so the interior will be getting wrapped over the next couple weeks. We just bought a double stitch sewing machine.... so we can do it here now. Kinda killin me... but i guess i have to look at it like an investment. Cheaper than farming it out................... i guess. :_paranoid Thanks again for the compliments. |
the rear of that car flat looks awesome! I really dig the diffuser concept, built in spoiler even if it does seem a bit Shelby/California Special-ish, looks really cool.
Everything is so smooth and blended well on the rear of the car, any thoughts of smoothing out the front dam/incorporated splitter design or will it be keeping the sharp lines as seen here? |
Impressive

What is the rear tire and does it come in 15's?

http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Etire%2Ent05%2Esizes tmadden The dash is pretty straight forward. You need to remove the majority of the stock dash... a couple stock brackets.. but really... it took 5 minutes to do. We used a air saw. The stock dash and brackets are still in good shape and usable. Marquez did a nice job designing that. The brackets that hold the dash to the body are easily mounted and they give you a nice amount of room to adjust where you want the holes drilled. The pics of mine are at an early "install" stage... like the area around the steering column. It came uncut... so we cut it. There is another "finishing" piece that goes over that area. Very well designed. bynbad914 Thanks for the compliments. The front spoiler is going to stay sharp like that. The original mock up pieces we used some curves.. but decided on this one. No real reason.... we just like how it went with the grill i guess.... lol. |
Man that is lookin beastly.... keep up the progress. Definitely cannot say you are copying someone else's ideas! :D

I'd highly suggest reconsidering that front splitter. That car is going to be undrivable in a lot of circumstances. Grocery story parking lots will eat it alive and come back for seconds. A stock Camaro spoiler on a lowered first gen gets ripped apart frequently.
If that car plans to get driven, I'd reconsider it or make it removable. The gentleman I met at Cal Speedway had the right idea with his front spoiler, he made it removable... http://lh5.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/SS...0/IMG_0663.JPG |
Thanks for the advise...
This Camaro's chin isn't to bad. There is actually a few inches of clearance. Rolling in and out of the shop is no problem. Im also used to slammed cars. The chin of my last M5 was seriously 1.5 inches off the ground. Drove it for 4 years. I don't think there will be any problem. |
Nice looking car
|
The center section is a seperate removable piece. If it gets banged up we will just replace it. The sides are permanent so they will require repairs if needed. It shouldn't be too bad.
